What's the difference between bye and bye now?

Hi yeah the title says it all. It's like I'm coming back to work after two months of vacation and before I leave they - my colleague, were like bye now, after I said bye.

There is no difference. They're just two different phrases with the same meaning. But if you want specifics, a friend could say "bye now", meaning by for now because you guys will probably see each other soon. Whereas, an employee at the gas station could just say "bye" because you most likely won't see him again.

I don't think there's any difference. maybe they just said bye now so that they don't repeat exactly what you said:P

Oh I see thanks. I thought it's like bye for now, as in were seeing each other again the next time, something like see ya which has like the meaning of seeing you again. Haha
