Is it weird for an almost 18 year old to hang out with 13 year olds?

I'm 17 and I just graduated this May. My sister is 13 and we spend a lot of time together and are super close. She invited me to hang out with her, her boyfriend, and his friends once and I did. Now we all hang out very often. We text in a group message together everyday. I even hang out with them with out her sometimes when she's unavailable. My parents think it's weird but my friends don't (meaning my high school friends who will be juniors next year.) Is it weird or is it no big deal?

By the way, I do have friends my own age that usually come with me when I hang out with my sisters friends.

And another major reason why I hang out with them is that I don't have a car so wherever my sister and I go has to be walking distance which all her friends are within walking distance of us as are my two closest friends of my own age.

1. I think as we 'evolve' we are restricting ourselves too much into compartments
2. 13 & 17 is 4 years difference which puts you in the same age group
3. Your parents think it's weird cause they for 1 are probably worried about you finding and being comfortable in your own age circles give or take a year or so & 2 about the way you think, cause they think the way the society you live in does - they're concerned about social repercussions etc
4. I think it's cool especially because the bonding between sisters is a great one and your age difference isn't that apart
5. One thing however, you must also fraternize & socialize with your peers too while not letting them mix up with your sister or sister's circles - more from the protective point of view :)

If you don't have no boyfriend whose age 13 i don't see it much creepy but i think it's good you look out for your sister whose age 13 , if things are all casual than I wouldn't worry much , I get good vibes that your a good girl , you should look out for these younger friends cause your being a role model for them and it seems your setting a good example for them

Well the situation you described not really. But if it's someone who actively seeks to only hang out with 13 year olds and they don't have any kind of social problem, then it's a little weird.

It's hard at this age but at 28 and 23 no problem at all.

the only weird part about it is that you text her other 13 year old friends. Maybe you should just keep the relationship with your sister but not her friends.

13... think about what boyfriends are to girls, usually involving some sort of intimate relations... if they haven't already, they're really just friends, but like to label it boyfriend girlfriend

Anyway, that's aside the point, the fact that she's 17 and hanging out with 13 year olds, is a little odd, and once she turns 18, is illegal, especially if she hangs out with the boyfriend
