Why does she go on and off Facebook chat? Does she not want to talk to me?

so I met a girl two weeks ago. We really hit it off. So last week we spent a few hours everyday at night talking to each other on Facebook chat. I then decided not to talk to her for a few days so that I would be smothering her. So now every time I go on Facebook, and I see that she is on chat, she goes offline right away. Even today, she was on and then right away went off. Then a little later she popped back up and then quickly disappeared. Does she not want to talk to me or does this not have to do with me? Why would she not want to talk if we seemed to really be getting along?

hm I been doing that lol the guy didn't text for a couple of days and honesty that upset me! I mean just a text a day would b nice. I just see he is on stay 5 min and sign off, sometimes come back in a little and get off. Just to see if he is still on lol and show I don't really care and it hasn't effected me, him not texting. That I am not so desperate and not about to contact him. SOO question for you what would you want her to do? I am in the same situation I don't know why guys do that, he says he likes me etc. text and than suddenly couple of days no text? have no idea what to think of that you guys are confusing

The reason we do it is because we don't want to come off as being too in your face. There were plenty of times I wanted to talk to her but I didn't because I didn't want to make her feel like I was always bugging her. I don't know about other guys, but I also did it because I wanted to test her interest level. By not going on Facebook chat for a few days and then going on it, if she starts talking to me then I would have known that she was interested.

...In my humble opinion that's happening because you stopped talking her for a while and maybe I don't know she felt disappointed about this fact and she decided to stop talking to you for a while till she decides to talk to you again...Thats not absolute though, but it was the first thing that popped out in my mind because I would do the same...The second thing that came in my mind is the opposite...She found you annoying for example and decided to lose contact with you...I hope I helped...

Admittedly, I do this all the time. I pull up my Facebook chat, and when someone gets on that I don't want to talk to, I hurriedly go offline, but it doesn't mean she doesn't like you. I've gone offline when my best friend is on many times just because I'm trying to write a paper for class or something, and I don't want her distracting me. Plus, it could easily be coincidence. I wouldn't look too far into it, and just try talking to her outside of Facebook. :)
