I got caught shoplifting from Whole Foods. What should I do?

Question

They took me into security, took my photo and had me sign papers. They said I could never come into and Whole Foods again forever. 

I hate having this over my head. I feel on the verge of crying. 

What if someone like a friend or a boyfriend wants to go to Whole Foods with me at any point in the future?

But more of what's bothering me than that is dealing with this in my mind. The feeling of guilt and shame - how do I get rid of it?

Maybe if you explained the situation to him and it didn't sound completely dumb then he would find it pretty funny, plus it's not the end of the world, even if it is wrong.

Also that place won't even remember you in the future most likely.

My mom got caught shop lifting not too long ago (my family is full of idiots lol) and Walmart took her straight to jail, she had to stay for almost 3 days over the weekend and they took her photo and banned her but she still goes back in there all the time. It still makes me laugh thinking about my mom who is in her late 40s, in jail for shop lifting... lol

There's nothing you can do at this point. You are old enough to know you should not be stealing. You're lucky they didn't press charges, put you in jail, and smear your official record. No offense, but you didn't feel any guilt or shame while you were trying to steal. You only feel guilt and shame because now you got caught and everyone knows who exactly it is stealing.

The only thing you can do is let time do it's thing and accept the situation as well as forgive yourself.

You're gonna have to accept the fact that you've done something wrong and adapt to whatever they asked you to do. If you are with a friend, tell that friend what you need and wait outside.

If you feel so bad, just don't do it again. Always remember that actions have consequences...

You SHOULD feel guilt and shame. You're a thief and should be in jail.

You seem to be more concerned about how it affected you than concerned about right and wrong. You aren't a little 6 year old kid stealing a candy bar. You're an adult and know better.

What should you do? Stop stealing. Stop because you know it's wrong, not because of the consequences.

its tough you done the crime you know have to deal with it and you crying is not going to change a fact that your a thief. and that is part of the punishment or further shame you should of thought about it before you done #

you cannot get rid of it you went against your conscious it will always be there to varying degree and will fade but can be right back if boyfriend or family member wants to go in there.
