Why do some girls use too much of filter?

As a girl, I never understood why some girls use so much of brighteness, lightening or filters in their photo.. I mean isn't one filter enough? I can't even look at their face properly the only thing I can see is their hair or eyes. And the amount of brighteness seriously hurts my eyes. No offence meant by the way if you're one of them, I am just curious if this is some sort of trend going on lol.

Also I am not saying filters make you look fake. Using one or two is okay as it doesn't change much but using tons of them look fake to me..

I've never used any filters on my pics. Why bother? Wait, I did use one. But it was like an "anime" style. It wasn't to full anyone into thinking I'm attractive or anything, I mean. Unless y'all creeps find Japanese cartoons attractive.

it's japanese anime! not cartoon -.- noo I am not saying using filters fool people that they're attractive. One is okay it's almost like the natural look but using like ton of them with lightening and all looks rather fake.

Filters make people look prettier XD so that's why they use so many filters.

My phone's camera is very good so I don't feel the need to use many filters. I won't lie tho, I use one and that's it.

Most people don't know a thing about photography, so having access to a camera on your cell phone won't guarantee a good photo.
