Why are girls using these fake freckle filters on their pictures all the time?

What is it with these fake freckle filters girls use on their pictures all over the place and why in the world do they think it's attractive? To me it makes girls with otherwise beautiful skin look like they have some kind of rash. Seriously, it does not look attractive at all. It looks phony and ruins a perfectly pretty face.

Cause freckles are "in" right now. Have been for a while. They put fake freckles on in real life too! With makeup. They look adorable in my opinion but I might be a little biased 🙃

I have nothing against girls with NATURAL freckles. They can look very pretty. But fake ones? I don't know about the fake freckles in real life, but the ones with the cam filters look stupid to me. It looks like they need to wash their faces! Real freckles = nice Fake freckles = ?

It's called insecurity. They are trying to hide their imperfections through filters. If you spot them on a dating app, then you instantly know they are very insecure about their looks.

That's kind of sad. Unfortunately half the pictures online I see don't look anything like she actually looks. Not a good way to start an honest relationship.
