Is Timberland RACIST?

I was going to buy another pair of timberland waterproof boots and I stumbled upon a couple of articles about how timberland is racist and the owner is the president of the KKK. I also read that the logo on the boots represents the tree that they hung African Americans on. I also read Mya Angelous poem and I'm hearing that it was on the Oprah Winfrey show. Is it true? If so then wow! Now I'm thinking about all of the other designers like Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hil., and others.
