Why do Turks, Greeks and Italians look so similar?

I have seen all of these countries and the people there look so similar to each other. Why?

They are not far from each other, regionally so it comes at no surprise really. Also the three countries has had A LOT of history with each other they have gotten somewhat mixed with each other along the line. However there are still separate ethnic groups within these countries and still very distinctive looking people. In turkey you have some that look incredibly Arabic and you have some that are naturally blonde and blue eyed. In Italy you can also have that case where there is blonde & blue eyed people but also the other more Mediterranean look of olive skin, thick dark hair.
I have noticed with people from Greece though tend to have far more curly hair than Italy or Turkey.
But they do all three have people who look more stereotypically European and people who look stereotypically Mediterranean.

I think it's just because they're so close to each other geographically and they share so much history. People from the Balkans look especially similar to one another. My husband is Serbian but he's been asked if he's Greek.

Original Turks are from genghis Khan. They look like him and they are from Kazakhstan Turkmenistan etc. Very few blood Turks exist in turkey. This is because during the Ottoman Empire the minority Turks in power took control over the non Turkish lands and then forced the people into speaking Turkish. These people were Mainly Greeks. Then over time these people were culturally assimilated and Turkish in culture. So they call themselves Turks. Only about 15% of turkey has actual Turkish blood. Sad thing is most deny the truth or down want to know. Pan Turkish nationalism in turkey is the cause for this.

they have genetics inherited from peoples that have diverged and evolved to suit their climate and are geographically adjacent, and so have largely shared genetic heritage.

Lol thats because we are from "Mediterranean" We are not same ethnicity but people from Mediterranean look like eachother a lot thats right. I think Thats because we are in the same geography and we got mixed up with eachother after some centruies. Not even look is similar, Mediterranean people also have similar "personality".

Italians don't really look like Turks or Greeks.
As for Greeks and Turks, well that would be because significant portion of the Turkish ancestry is Greek, later diluted by Persian and Ottoman influence.

You can see every european looking person in Turkey, but greeks are the onyl peope who have mixed with turks that much.

I am Italian and my whole family is too and we don't look Turkish at all, I don't know about the Greek part

Well it depends in some areas of Turkey, if you go to west side of Turkey you will see a lot of people with European looking, if you go to East side of Anatolia (Where Kurds are mostly living ) you Will see more dark skinned people.

@lost_alice I dont think u saw a lot of Turkish people, there are people here Who are even more Blonde than some Europeans :D There are people here Who look like Mediterranean and Middle Eastern it changes.

I have visited Istanbul, Izmir and Ankara. The most homogeneous one was Ankara and in general, people were black haired and fair skinned there.

Yeah we have %90 black haired and fair skinned ( like I am) there are especially a lot in Izmir and Bursa. I am from Istanbul.
