I'm not so sure it is. In quite some countries there are actually government initiatives that go against misandryst double standards, boys falling behind in primary education, archaic family law, etc... Maybe if you live in Sweden or some American state that just adopted some strange ultra-feminist law it may seem like misandry is on the rise but I wouldn't say it is in the West as a whole.
It's also tempting to use it as an excuse or get addicted to the rush of the struggle and refuse to ever admit the problem is lessening (the way some feminists or minority activists seem to refuse this).

Because we're letting it pass by "female empowerment".

because more and more women are empowered for more than they were in history. with increased power comes abuse of power
On the rise? What the F?
Cultural misandry and male disposability have been the de facto gold standard for centuries. Male-only conscription? 98% of alimony, asset division and child support being paid by men to women? Majority of homeless shelters female-first but the majority of homeless male? Majority of unemployed male but all quota systems for jobs female-only? When you drove down the road, who do you think built everything you see - including the road - through working low paying, back breaking, life shortening, unsafe jobs?
Misandry isn't on the rise. Misandry is the cultural norm. It's hidden in plain sight so people become anesthetized to the suffer-ring of men and boys.Because a group of women that have penis envy, and think their lives would be better if they were men, are very bitter they don't have a penis, so they hate men for having them, then they make up reasons why as a woman they are divine and Godlike while making up reasons why all penis holders are less than sewage and useless, once they create reasons for their superiority they then take on a Hitleresque mindset that they have the right to murder, maim, terrorize, torture, and destroy any male because they deem all males to be without basic human value.
Because, according to Feminist author Christina Hoff Sommers, the Feminist movement won in the 80s, and after that, it basically became the crazy, misandrist movement we know today.
TL;DR: Feminists have gone nuts after winning equality in the 80sBecause feminism is at an all time high in the USA, especially with scum like Beyonce, Taylor Swift, and Katy Perry. And that's why I'm considering bringing in a Ukrainian wife. She'd be much easier to please and be a better wife than these rotten American women in my home country.
The Soviet Union collapsed so now the Left is applying their same failed model to culture. It is a Marxist narrative, interpreting everything as a class struggle against the perceived bogeyman. In this case, white heterosexual men and anything even remotely suggesting normalcy.
Because the Political Left has decided to wage war on stable couples and family relationships. An intact family means less statist dependence, and their whole political movement is built upon more statist dependence.
Because privileged white girls in the first world still like to pretend that they're oppressed even though they obviously have everything men have and more with it coming to them much easirt
misandry and misogyny are like a pendulum. it goes back and forth. now it´s on the misandry side of things but it will swing back again xD
Probably because there are more empowered women than there ever were before.
Because a lot of guys are in fact sexist douchebags
I haven't noticed. Most women seem to like me, but perhaps your situation is different.
Because we ran out of people willing to make difficult choices about real problems.
I think the internet has led to a vocal rise in misogyny and misandry
No rise in misandry that I know off.
Misogyny is a campaign theme in the US.Because men allow it to be... like everything else we allow to happen !!
