What do you think of the rise of false Victimhood culture and Microagressions in the west?

The culture of dignity is now giving way to a new culture of victimhood in which people are encouraged to respond to even the slightest unintentional offense, as in an honor culture. But they must not obtain redress on their own; they must appeal for help to powerful others or administrative bodies, to whom they must make the case that they have been victimized. It is the very presence of such administrative bodies, within a culture that is highly egalitarian and diverse (i. e., many college campuses) that gives rise to intense efforts to identify oneself as a fragile and aggrieved victim. This is why we have seen the recent explosion of concerns about microaggressions, combined with demands for trigger warnings and safe spaces.

Excellent post. Just think about the generation of Americans who won World War II. What do you think they would have thought of all these pansies complaining about "microaggressions" and begging for "safe spaces"? These PC Social Justice Warriors with their fragile psyches are ridiculous.

Eh... I don't think it's as widespread as people might think. Even most college students don't buy into that shit. It's just that the incidents that do happen with PC babies tend to be blown up and publicized extensively.

I think the problem with these whiner babies is that if the pull the "im offended card" over something innocent you said or did all of a sudden your a racist, homophobe, xenophobe etc. I thank god im not a white male as they are such an easy target.

Actually from what I've seen, American professors are as shocked as anyone at the behaviour of some of their students. They just aren't allowed to stand their ground.
