Why are middle schoolers so mean?

Today, an old lady tripped and fell flat on her face. The stupid middle schoolers stared at her instead of helping. Gladly, I was there to pick the poor woman up.

Because they are middle schoolers. They are losing the innocence of childhood and beginning to gain the traits (*) of adulthood, but are still children.

(*) sexuality, cognition and logic abilities, social thinking (thinking less about the self and more about groups and one's place in that group - this is the onset of learning to navigate office politics).

Middle school was horrible. I want to forget those years. Also every year they just get worse and worse.
