Why are boys from the age 10-14 so mean?

I get cyber bullied by 12 year olds and in real life. The other day I was walking in the woods and these 12 year old boys on bicycles came up to me and made fun of me. I was taller and older than them all, what gives them the confidence?

A guys that age are jerks. And they ARE!!

What gives them the confidence? : a combination of things. Partly just hormones. Partly it's that they're brave when in a group and are showing off like idiots for their idiot friends (as with the boys with the bicycles).

But do you know what it really is I think... it's a weird age. It's just when you start liking girls, but you don't know really KNOW any girls (very well). At least for me, that's the age right around when it becomes ok for the boys to hang out and be friends with the girls. So before that boys are just hanging out with boys... it's just a bunch of boys playing sports, being gross, and doing dumb shit. They notice girls... but have no idea how to relate to them. So those kids on the bike thought they looked super cool in front of each other BUT ALSO TO YOU.

Don't worry. the criteria for "how to look cool" in front of your peers changes DRASTICALLY overnight. All of a sudden... you understand how stupid you look (how stupid you're being) when you make fun of some girl like these kids did. It really is just a weird age. But don't worry... a few years from now, they'll look back on this and understand how dumb they're being. These idiots (believe it or not) might possibly turn out to be find men some day. You just have to... avoid boys at this age (I guess?)

Because at that time in life, the prefrontal cortex (the decision making part of the brain) is weaker than in any other time of life. They are ruled by chemicals and their amygdala (very primative part of the brain (does it kill me, do I kill it or do i fuck it?)
