My friend wants to model. But.....

She's not that attractive. Like, at ALL...basically, picture a slightly lighter-skinned version of Flavor Flav, and then take off 10 lbs & put a wig on him. That's what she looks like...and I really don't wanna see her hurt because I'm so sure she won't get any jobs...and my mom is a modeling agent, so she asked me if I could hook her up & I feel like I should be a good friend and tell her maybe modeling isn't for her. She watches Project Runway and ANTM and looks at Victoria's secret catalogs like "that's gonna be me" & I'm thinking, "Honey..."

SIGH...what to do? Because I feel like she would just tell me "oh you're just jealous" or something like that...help :(

It's a tough one because you don't wanna be a d***, you don't want to laugh at her delusions, and you don't want to just comply with it where she becomes hurt.

Best thing I would do, is just let her face the music for herself. It's not like you are intentionally saying: "Honey, you look like the white version of flavor flav with a wig!"... It's just you being a friend and helping her accomplish her dreams; but letting her face reality on the same note.

When she ultimately falls on her face, you want to "pick her up and dust her off".. She's probably gonna be in denial or upset for a while; but just convince her to follow through with what the agency is asking for.

Obviously if they are paying money, they want what they are looking for. They aren't going to hire a monkey to model clothes, so they have no reason to stoop their standards in anywhich way; whether she is a family friend or not.

Just be there for her, like a friend, but don't try to tell her what she can / can't do.

Be sure to describe the same thing to the modeling agents so it doesn't look bad against your name. While that sounds conceited, it's better that you look out for yourself first because we've all had a lot of friends instantly walk out of our lives.

- Sure that may sound conceited, but what would you prefer. Having these modeling agencies laugh at you and think: "Oh yeah like that last girl you sent in here" when you offer a new friend a job there. No... no... Just keep it clean and reasonable.

You aren't doing anything wrong by trying to help her out; some people are saying you are "Encouraging her delusion" but let's face it - She may as well face the music.

Sorry if you disagree but I'm just speaking the honest truth of how I feel.

DON'T tell her you think she's unattractive though. Just divert her attention as much as you can and also...if she doesn't listen yto you and does get rejected, tell her, there will be someone who finds her attractive. there's someone for everyone!

If yur a true friend.. Just tell her the truth..
No one wants a friend who lies.. I think..
Everyone wants a good and honest friend..
Telling her the truth might her hurt..
But at least she'll hear your opinion..
