If I can make my own society with rules..
Sex offenders get a death sentence. Federally decriminalize marijuana. People shouldn't be able to OWN land. Sexism should be seen as racism. This includes both for men and women. People of higher power will receive greater consequences as leading a country isn't a joke. Have a new president for the US. Religion, culture (not food), and tradition is eliminated and we all adopt a singular culture. People don't think I'm a group mentality. An example of this is I'm Asian so I'm going to make friends with only other Asians. Pay minimum wage workers 20$ in California and other high expense states while lowering overall high class income by 10%(they'll fucking live). The school system will work with your specific major starting grade 12. Have 5% of government budget towards helping the homeless and the sick and get them a shelter. Less technology to take our jobs. Sure it's convenient but I don't want 50% of the job market to disappear in year 2080.

yes, but that's a really tricky question.

any changes I think of making would be to the rules of society. the problem with this though is that there will always be those who manipulate the rules to their advantage at the expense of others.

the second problem I see is that everyone has a different opinion of what 'better' means. should society pursue technology, wealth, religion, or perhaps the ever-changing goal of happiness.

perhaps something like a universal income which provides for basic food, shelter, clothing, etc.
that seems like something that should fit with any goal of a civilized society.

I'm told America's welfare system is pretty poor compared with Australia's. but even here welfare and food stamps are a pretty meagre sort of existence that I could hardly call living, existing maybe but not living.

the major effect of such low income is the inability to pull yourself out of it.
employers look at the fact you're on benefits and prefer to choose someone else. (assuming drugs or poor work ethic)
there's nothing in the household budget for clothing or work related equipment
there's little funding for education to improve skills for employment and what funding is made available is generally abused by people teaching useless degrees and generally overpricing of education
throw a disability or child into that mix and it gets that much more difficult.

hence the inkind system I described, I'm not sure about America but in Australia high rents are the most crippling thing on a person's budget. sometimes total income from welfare won't cover it.

All of these things you mention require "WORK" to be utilized successfully. The American welfare collector would never stand for that. If you are willing to do the work to utilize these things you will likely be successful ennough to not need welfare

Trick question. I think it's immoral to answer this question because in the 20th century we saw what happens when true believers and utopians had the reigns of power. They ended up slaughtering millions of their own citizens in death camps. People always come to power with the best intentions. But that power and ideology corrupt insidiously.

Absolutely outlaw any type of religion. That is the only thing I would ban. I wouldn't be North Korea or Soviet Union because I'm not a ruthless dictator. Plus we are going to have to start thinking about this when we start populating on other planets.

1. If proven guilty of rape/animal abuse get same and equally brutal punishment.
2. 3 years of mandatory work for government after passing school or college so that you by default have work experience.
3. Remove taxes and inheritance of wealth. After death of an individual all his wealth (except his house and car) go to govt. as taxes.

I wish, but it wouldn't happen. I just want people to finally stop thinking only about themselves, open their minds, and accept the world around and the people around. No more people hating just for the sake of hate, no more people causing havoc in another's life just for giggles, no more people ignoring others in their times of crisis... And slowly but surely... We all band together and be what humans are supposed to be; united and strong.
