Were men meant to serve women?

Think about for a second. Guys pay for date, open doors , work hard to take care of their stay at home wife and we all know about the "woman and children first".

So are men meant to serve women?

In my opinion guys are not serving them they are doing their duty. It's always better idea to split the bills of the date. The both genders are equivalent. I think sometimes guys becomes so polite in some cases like pulling the chair and opening the doors.

No doubt it is romantic thing when guy cares for the girl but it must not look like guys are like servants. Guys must also have some self respect.

Personally I think relationship is much more than opening the doors and giving gifts. In relationship emotional connection must be there so bonding between both becomes strong.

I believe that sometimes such things are done to show off the love which in in reality does not exist.

Obviously the girls can be bread earners of the house if they want to contribute for the house and children and when they are comfortable. It does not mean that guy becomes lethargic and dependent on the girl.

Just balance must be maintained in both the genders.

That's because men are raised to believe that women should be treated differently than men. They deserve no less than to be treated special. A lot of men broke from that way of thinking and so have women.

No, we aren't meant to serve you. If we were, we wouldn't have been born as the bigger, stronger, more powerful sex that are just as intelligent and just as capable. It's just an ideal that's false.

Honestly, It's equal for me and my man. We put both of our money in a joined account so WE pay for the date. We open doors for one another as a whole. If anything he's the stay at home person but he works from home so it's not like we're both jobless. We work hard and clean the house together. And we both come first because I'm not leaving without him lol.

Up untill the last few thousand years men were evolved to be servants to the women, children and community. This was the time when women had choice in sexual partners and matriarchies were prevalent.

Over the last few thousand years, rape and female slavery through marraige has become much more prevalent- not great genetic traits have been cycling through the global gene pool. With it male desire for dominance and conquest has really solidified. So men have a dichotomy in them both a desire to be picked, to serve to be valued by their ability to serve and also to rule, be served and be judged by the type of people he can force to serve him.

It's a huge mess.

and women serve men by taking care of them, raising their children,
making food for them etc.
At least that's how humans were meant to be.

Men provide women with resources because of their physical superiority and women make use of those resources to feed man and his family.

men did those things when women remained chaste until marriage. it was the price we paid for having a good women. today those things are not the norm. look at the costa concordia men were pushing women out of the way for life boats.
