They don't. play a game of spot the topless man in lady gaga videos. You property didn't notice the first time around cause your focused on the singer that sells the brand and your probably straight so your eyes focus on sexy women more than men.

Works with boy bands like one direction too only with the focus being directed at a sexy male singer not a sexy female one.

Tl;DR: sex sells, men and women are susceptible and both are marketed.

I would love to hear your source for that. especially for the ones that are boys only on stage or in the video. Another good one is radioactive by Imagine dragons the main focus of that music video is a women who isn't sexualized at all I'd say the men banging a drum hard showing their muscles was pretty sexual though.

Sex sells and more often than not, the director is male and they make what they want to watch/think would sell the song.

We know what works and what doesn't.

My sister used to swoon at this Maroon 5 vid where one of the dudes had a tux on. I wouldn't be that transfixed by a woman no matter how well dressed she was in video, if she were half-naked however... different story.

I think men and women just like different things for whatever reason, and people are aware of those things and use them to market themselves. I guess there's always exceptions though, girls seem to like Magic Mike *shrug*
