Nigga comes from the word n** which means an ignorant person , it's what white people used to call their black slaves it was used in a derogatory manner. Which is why i think black people wouldn't like hearing it from white people.
Personally I'm against this word in general i don't think anyone should use that word but oh well
That is what I always wandered I mean they can call each other that word but when a non African American says it It's "Racist." I don't think they truly understand the meaning behind that word correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't that word used by slave owners?
White people can't say it because there ancesters used it to belittle and demoralize black people in the past, there's just too much hurt and history behind the word. It's literally just common decency to just not use it and the that fact that certain white just can't help them selves from saying it or get offended when they can't or offended when they hear other black people say it I find very hilarious. Black people can say it because black people do what they do best when they are faced with adversity, they use it to there advantage and make it cool AF. Lol the master gave them pig intestine to survive on and they put hot sauce on it and called it chitlines for God sakes! and it's really not that bad if cooked right. lol if it weren't for systemic racism and certain aspects of our culture black people would flourish beyond belief.

In my language "negro" has never been a bad word, it's out dialectical word for black. Damn, there are a lot of songs or products with that word in it made by white people and no one ever got offended by it. "Amaro Montenegro", or the song Watussi, where there are the "altissimi negri" (really tall niggas).
For us Italians has never been a bad word, so don't point on us if we still use it in our dialect
see black people use it as A play on the word. like it used to be offensive and now we over came and made it a sign of endearment and to show that it cannot affect us any more. but when a non black person does it, it just feels like they are mocking us. I personally try to refrain from using the word but when I hear people using it negatively especially a non black person it becomes offensive. I think non black people say it because they want to be black , at least the trendy positive aspects of black people, but they don't want the negative aspects. For example a non black person will listen to rap and "act black", but when its time to face the judge , police, or interview for a job they all of a sudden turn back into being the race they were.

Because the idea is that blacks cannot be racist against blacks (which is bullshit, by the way, since those are very diverse).
I personally don't have any problem with the word n** and still use it as an equivalent to the word "dude".
That is BS. Many people at work will talk like: “Dark skins do ____” “oh she said what? She is light-skinned though.” That would be like if my fair skinned friend said I behave how I do, because I’m more beige than she is. My whiteness is a little darker than hers, that’s why we act differently! Not our personalities... no way!

Also, seeing how there are different dominant cultures for persons of differing skin colours (especially in a place like the USA where culture is not that diverse for the most part) it only follows that person's of different skin colours will act and think differently due to a different upbringing. Insofar some of these statements are not wrong per se. Of course skin colour is not a determinant, but it _may_ be a predictor.
We can't be racist because power takes plave when racism happens and the white always has and always will have power over the black man because they are the majority in general and because in this world they are viewed as powerful men. And because of that reason, African-Americans are prejudiced and not racist.
I disagree. Prejudice plus power is a concept from the social sciences that cannot as such be applied to the colloquial definition of racism.
Besides, the truly powerful group is the Jewish people and yet it's possible to be racist against it. Almost like the reasoning is not internally consistent with you folks.

It's acceptable for either. Some people are still living in the past. I live where there are more black than white people. So everyone can say it. Depending on how they use it. If they use it as a derogatory term, then yes it's bad. But as in greeting someone it doesn't matter.
I cringe when I hear it to... except in songs! I don't know why, it just seems to fit within certain lyrics. Which I do sing that part without bleeping myself. Should I also bleep myself when curse words are said in lyrics?
I live in New Zealand and an Asian called me nigga and I jumped on him and scratched TF out of his mouth. So every time he sees his scar on his cheek in the mirror it can be a reminder not to use that word again in any country!

i think either version of the word is acceptable by any race, and also frowned by any race. to me its dependant on the context and usage. if used as greeting or lyrics or history text than its ok, however used in a demeaning or derogatory way is wrong.
N*gger and Nigga are 2 different words one is ignorant while the other in African American culture is a term of endearment like buddy, bro , friend its not like we say wassup n*gger to 1 another as for why its frowned apon by non blacks using it that really depends on the person like me I don't really care as long as you're not calling me n*gger you're fine its all in how you use it really.

In a case like that the person themselves should be ashamed because "N*gger" should never be used no matter the person or color now if you're referring to calling a white man nigga i think that depends on the friendship if a white friend is not comfortable with it you shouldn't use it around them but if so and you're close then you both should be able to use it as long as its not N*gger with er.
because when coming from someone outside of the community uses it, its feels intrusive/invasive. most people dont care (like me) but its usually better to be on the safe side
It should be used by everyone and more often until it loses its' sting as far as I'm concerned.
