There are lots of reasons people could want to be controversial and using that word is a great way to get negative attention. I know people throw that word around a lot but when it's used... "correctly"... There isn't really a better word I don't think... It's a useful tool.

Yeah that's what I meant. It can take essence away from a message trying to be conveyed. It's one of the worst words there are so for someone to say it out of anger, it more accurately illustrates how angry they are than if they were to use another word.

I've been discriminated based on ethnicity, and I've been called every word in the book. I've been targeted for being English, Irish, AND Scottish.

But that doesn't mean I'm going to tell people to stop because I think they have the right to. It's reclaiming. There were times in history where black people were so descriminated against that all they had to themselves were words and names. Their traditions. If they want to claim a word that was used to beat them down as their own they have that right, and nobody should try and claim otherwise
