The last time I checked, white people still controlled most of the world's resources and hold most of the power, and are at the top of the social pyramid. "It's okay to be white" ? More like "It's better than okay to be white."
@BlackMaleYou I feel you, man. A few white folk out there don't get why T-shirts like this are problematic, but let's hope that their numbers are few and far between.
@BlackMaleYou That's why we have to be the one who can empathize. Like, I'm not Black, but I can empathize. I might not necessarily 100% "get it" at all times, but I do my best to understand the major issues.
Its great that not everyone is empathetically handicap to the struggle. I acknowledge the words of brethren from other race who see our tears. I just wished there was less name callings and more conversations on this. Racism born of ignorance can be unlearned with truth and facts. We can't kill racism by silencing racists people but by confronting racism with intelligent words like u did in ur initial post. U simply explain undeniable reality of which race runs the worlds resources. Any ignorant but yet teachable mind would consider the point u made
Very true, and like you said I wish there was less name calling on here. can't count how many times I've been called a racist today for pointing out the advantage of being white.
@Selena2418 I didn't call you a racist for pointing out the advantages of being white. I called you a racist because of various other statements you made. Way to pick and choose your criticism! All I tried to do was open up a discussion about race and white privilege and essentially all you said was that you don't care about my view of things, you undermined my own experience while complaining about the exact same thing and then whenever I asked you a question on something specific you would either ignore it or simply resort to childish arguments about how you couldn't possibly be a racist because of having a certain background...
@Selena2418 It's my question so I get a notification every single time that somebody comments... but sure, if you want to make another illogical assumption then by all means!
No shit. Would you like to keep repeating yourself to me? You've said the same thing over and over again. Why would I keep bothering with you when it clearly doesn't matter. You dont appreciate how good it is to be white, that doesn't make me racist, and I don't care what you think of me.
@Selena2418 I never once said that! I didn't even suggest it. Literally all I claimed was that you were being hypocritical and making unsubstantiated claims. Now you're putting words in my mouth to support you point of view when the fact of the matter is that I never once said a single thing to you that wasn't factual. Whereas you're flailing your arms about left, right and centre, claiming that you aren't a racist because of X, Y and Z. If you're prejudicial or discriminatory against someone based entirely on their skin colour, then you're racist. It is really that simple.
The shirt's completely fine. I'm tired of hearing that "is it cuz I'm black?" shit. Yes black people are still mistreated in many parts of America because of white trash, but more intelligent and educated people are not racist. Some obnoxious black people need to stop acting like they're the only ones victimized and then the more intelligent people will respect them more.
There are plenty of educated white people who have discriminated against me. Of course not all white people, just like not all black people, would do that. Please dont dismiss or undermine the black experience when it comes to the discrimination they deal with.
There are some limits, if you don't allow wearing it, isn't that a limitation of the freedom? Everybody should be free to wear anything, and if you're black for example you shouldn't be offended. It's just an oppinion, everybody can say and think anything.
honestly these types of shirts are just cringy to me..

It's true. It's okay to be white, it's okay to be black, it's okay to be Asian, it's okay to be thick, it's okay to be fat, it's okay to be skinny and it's okay to be muscular. Who cares, just be you and ve confident.
I agree too but not for sex pests. For instance, I have a friend in the Far East. Been a widow for less than a year. Inundated with disgusting images and messages offering her money for a naked pic or to go on can naked. All from muslim men. She had to make her profile private to stop them. This is happening all over the internet. White guys aren't all innocent I know but we don't all target muslim girls like a pack of rabid dogs like that. It is the pure lack of respect I despise, plus they give all men a bad name.
I don't see a problem with it. It's a shirt. But damn, doing a quick search of Lauren Southern, she's a hot piece of ass wrapped up in a whole lot of crazy. What a waste of a hot body.
I think some white people feel like they are less than those of other races because they aren’t the victim of the discrimination prevalent today. This is a reminder that it’s okay to be white and not be the victim. It is also okay to use the privileges they have to speak out for those who can’t.
Lmao what, "its ok to not be the victim." Why does that require a reassurance? Why would one feel less to the other just because they don't face dscrimination? Are you suggesting that some people are glorifying the discrimination certain minorities face, that they feel "left out of", without ever have having experienced it the true extent of it? Now that I call ignorance.
@blubblubblub "its ok to not be the victim" There's even a term for it: White guilt. They shouldn't have to feel guilty. Especially today in this victimhood culture; progressive attitudes place the highest value on the most victimized people, this has traditionally been played up around gender but now it's expanded to include race and orientation and dialed up to 11 to be used as tools for manipulation.
"they don't face discrimination" Thinking that is how you set up people up to be discriminated against.
"some people are glorifying the discrimination certain minorities face" Of course they are. These "minorities" even glorify their own perceived discrimination. If they can claim victimhood then they can absolve themselves of personal responsibility and -- regardless of what the truth is, the greater victimhood they can claim the more contemporary culture will prop them up.
Nah, it’s ok for anyone to wear what they like. I would be confused tho. I’ve never seen a white person being oppressed by any system, discriminated by the system, or have ever been treated unfairly by the system... so wearing a shirt like that would truly confuse me.. but it’s not like I would try to call the cops on you are anything. I would walk by confused but then forget that you are it ever existed lol

I find it pointless. White people aren't oppressed cause of their race. Its stupid and cringe worthy if people are gonna wear this.
There's the beauty of the statement. It's a paradox. If white people aren't oppressed as you say, then this statement should be pretty common sensical and in no way provocative. It should like wearing a shirt that says Water Is Wet. Yet, for it to be considered provocative suggests some form of anti-white racism.
"White people aren't oppressed cause of their race" It other words it's not totally okay to be white. Have a problem with this shirt or the original poster indicates some kind of negative attitude toward white people. It's obviously an entirely necessary provocative statement.
They're not trying to play victim though. Not only was it not designed for that, that's not even how it works anyway. It's a troll designed to upset the delicate nonsensical sensibilities of regressives/SJWs and bait them out into the open.
it is exactly what its doing, victimizing themselves. i dont know what it was designed for, but i think to find it pointless is pretty reasonable. why is a "sjw" seen as a bad thing anyway?
Where to start. They're racial collectivists, authoritarians, illiberal, toxic, the list goes on. You'd want them to spread their philosophy as much as you'd want Nazis to spread their philosophy. They embody ideologies that need to be challenged.
Racial collectivists, the opposite of that is brushing every struggle people of colour face, under the carpet and declaring us all to be a part of the human race. It is necessary when certain groups are facing oppression, to target certain groups. And again while i don't necessarily agree with all of the general "sjw's" methods, the ultimate purpose is social justice no? Thats not so bad. Not at all of them are necessarily the same, can't think of them as a collective group haa.
Not being a racial collectivist doesn't mean you're ignoring people.
It's not necessary to target groups when you can target individuals and uniquely tailor what they need to their situation. So yes, all being humans with different needs is vastly superior to grouping people into boxes and providing solutions (that don't even work) meant to apply to everyone in that group when it actually doesn't.
There's also the questions if what is actually being suffered and what is it's nature. Are these problems "groups" face actually problems or some misinterpretation of things.
No, social justice is not good. Justice is good. There's no need to tack on that extra piece. Social Justice circumvents justice. It's basically a synonym of mob justice for progressives.
They're not all the same, they just generally tick a lot of the boxes, when it comes to shitty people or toxic ideas. They come in many flavors. e. g Feminists, Antifa.
If the problems are cos because of the certain feature alll the people boxed in share, then yes actually, boxing them will help it. If black people are being subject to racial profiling, yes you are gonna keep it to black people. Cause their skin colour is whats causing the difference between their treatment and everyone elses treatment. And social justice is justice, a form of it. None circumvents the other, they are one.
No, I wouldn't have a problem with it, because that's what the people wearing this kind of t-shirts actually want. They're just seeking attention and I think it's best to silently judge them instead of turning it into a big deal.
i hope people realise that this was created by a guy specifically for the reactions of libtards. this phrase is a trap set for leftists and has exposed their hypocricy when it come to race
As a Mexican American who generally identifies with my Mexican side (mostly cuz I look more Mexican I guess) I think its fine. I'm super chill though, I could see how someone might twist it around but I'm cool with it!
I don’t exactly see this as offensive or provocative... and the person chose the top for themselves. I think it’s okay and i wouldn’t have a problem with it. It’s not worth being phased over.
Its stupid that people think that one life means any more than another without looking at the actual events and choices made in a life. Saying black lives matter, but all whites are racist and misogynistic ass holes is just as racist and dim witted as hating someone because theyre black.

Sometimes I feel like empathy is some kind of superpower. Most people lack it when it doesn't affect them
This is probably my favorite thread on this question yet. @dantetheexplorer well said! My thread became hostile quick.
@Selena2418 People become hostile when confronted with their privilege. It's very normal - unfortunately.

Its ok to be white & want muslims in their own countries
@Loverpool im afraid not for the second part of that sentence
Well maybe a bit extreme but definitely all off western & far eastern dating sites & fb. Too many perverts trying to groom.
@Loverpool the Internet is a free space, anyone can hang around

That's not where it came from at all. Most people from the camp that use it are in opposition to the privilege narratives.
Lmao what, "its ok to not be the victim." Why does that require a reassurance? Why would one feel less to the other just because they don't face dscrimination? @blubblubblub Yeah, I definitely think so. I think some people are that egotistical.
@blubblubblub "its ok to not be the victim"

Token and quotas.
There is an OBVIOUS war against white heterosexual men
(i can't tell if thats sarcasm, is it?)
Being left appart from Jobs you are qualified just because of your race is called how?

I said its pointless, its like walking around with a shirt that says corn is yellow. Its just cringey that you're turning it into an issue.
BetterCallPaul i am not saying whites aren't opressed but the opposite

I loathe all identity politics. It doesn't matter which so, no.
I think it’s stupid but wear whatever you like.
Reminds me of that one comedian guy. “Here’s your sign”
The statement isn't written in Comic Sans, so I have absolutely no problem with it at all.
No, I wouldn't have a problem with it, because that's what the people wearing this kind of t-shirts actually want. They're just seeking attention and I think it's best to silently judge them instead of turning it into a big deal.

In the current political climate, I'd fucking marry her.
In any other case, I'd think she has issues. That goes for any kind of race though, not just white.
