People kill people, but that doesn't mean you can trust everyone.
Guns give people the means to kill people. So yes, guns do kill people, it’s what they are made for.
Not true.
The rifle is rightfully a part of a long tragic history of useful tools turned into a weapon for self defense against a tyrannical government. Your choice to ignore that fact doesn't negate its veracity.
And your choice to ignore the fact that by allowing ease of access to these “tools” that kill is like giving cheat codes to a person who wants to kill.

I live in the UK and guns are banned since the first and only school shooting in 1996. Maybe USA should take some notes on that.
Still. That doesn't orevent any crimes. You guys recently had a knife control. People still find alternatives to kill people. And i rather a good guy have a gun to take down the bad guy with a gun.
And what happens when that “good guy” uses the gun? Even if by accident let’s say and kills someone? Isn’t it better to just place the risk in the first place.
I agree that killers would find a way to kill regardless because they’re twisted and don’t mind the hard work to get to their means.
But it’s very unlikely these people would go on a killing spree and successfully kill masses of easily and quickly. The point isn’t who commits the crime it’s how many people die because of guns and it’s a proven fact that no guns means less people die. I hardly doubt a single person armed with a knife would successfully be able to kill a classroom full of kids and their teacher. A gun allows that. Simple truth.
So yes no guns is a preventative measure to reduce crime because less people are at risk of dying.
And then if a mass shooting does happen over there in the U. k, then what? Nobody has any weapons to stop the mass shooter. Hell not even the police can do anything. Over here a lot of people even police have been saved by citizens who had a gun to take out the bad guy. And in case a tyrannical governement ever did happen, we the people have our right to defend ourselves against a government that turns on its own people. You also seem to forget about the drug cartel & black market, that literally sell guns to anyone for a good price. Take away our guns & let the villains runs around with them, while we have our right taken away. Which will never happen.
If that was going to happen it would have since the 22 years ban of guns it hasn’t happened so... that hypothetical situation is less likely to occur the longer we go without one. As for guns carried by the police only specially trained firearms are given that authority; which works. In the US your gun laws and the number of officers shooting civilians is clearly a problem.
If you can’t see that then you have a problem. No guns in the UK has worked and is panning out well as far as we’re concerned.
And the day it does, then what? You guys aren't prepared down there. And most of the shootings are justified because the suspect doesn't cooperate & ends up putting the life of the officers at risk. And we're never going to have our guns taken away. I own an AR-15 & go practicing all the time. Best believe, i'll take down a bad guy with a gun to save lives
Hypothetically anything can happen you can’t prepare for the unknown but going by the stats the chances of it occurring are next to none.

Coming from one of the places with the strictest gun laws and the worst crime rates, I'm pro gun. Citizens should have a right to defend themselves. Laws don't affect criminals.

I'd like to know why civilians, (people not in war), need machine guns though
I can actually think of a couple of scenarios that a machine gun would be useful for civilians. For example, the LA riots.
But there is very small portion of civilians who own machine guns, due to the fact all new machines guns are banned. So it is really a moot point.
