Roads, buildings, technology... The phone or computer you use, the vehicles, almost everything is made by men...
Why have women invented and/or built very few things? I know women's oppression in the past could be the reason.
Women have done plenty, but there are many reasons for men doing more when it comes to inventions and such. Women’s job is to basically build the people, and so men are left free to build other things. If you think about it, there is nothing else for men to really do. If they didn’t invent things, they would’ve been useless because women often birthed and raised many offspring, while also taking care of the home and often even the men. Our differing hormones also make it so that we don’t have the same interests in general and are even physically built for different tasks.
While men are capable of reaching higher intelligence than women, however, the difference doesn’t seem significant enough compared to the difference there is in female vs male inventors and builders, so while I’m sure that may play a role, I doubt that it plays a significant role.
Men generally have a higher IQ than women. In the list of top ten smartest people in the world there is only one female
Contrary to popular belief, there are more highly intelligent men than there are highly intelligent women.
The average intelligence for women is slightly higher than for men, but because the men's distribution curve is flatter, that means there are more highly intelligent men and more retarded men.
There is a strong correlation between invention and IQ and an strong inverse correlation between criminality and IQ, hence a large part of the reason why most criminals are men.
(Be careful when reading IQ as reported for individuals, because it breaks down in accurately measuring intelligence with scores above about 135.)
Well for starters it is a fairly recent thing for women to be properly educated. Even still their inventions are also often stolen or their contributions forgotten. For example the modern computer was based mostly on Augusta Ada King and her work on the Analytical Engine. She was really the first to see the potential of mechanisms doing more than just pure math.

There are a few reasons. Men are generally more technically oriented, while women prefer to work with people. Women generally like to make things as good as they can, with what's available, while men seek to increase power and consume (women just don't really care about that stuff). Men also needed things to get jobs done, while most of what women were doing historically just didn't need that level of creativity (if you have a trade convoy trying to get through some mountains, you are much more likely to try to build roads than if you are just looking to get your kids to church). Men don't do things that they don't really need to do, so It also doesn't hurt that we have women to demand that we refine things and make them better. Women, who are focused on making a comfortable nest, are just going to keep doing things the same way, until their husband complains, but chances are that he won't.
Female oppression is not and never has been as much of a factor as it was for the last 100-ish years. Industrial Era women were being forced to do men's jobs, but then not being given the same infrastructure as men. A woman couldn't have her own bank account, for example. In the past, that wasn't a problem, because the man was bringing in all the money she needed, but it's tough to cash your paychecks when you don't have your own bank account to do it through.
Because through out history we have been driven to provide for and protect our families, that includes designing things that make every one's lives easier. It has nothing to do with oppression like the feminists would like you to believe. Additionally if you look at the Bell curve Men have on average a higher IQ... With that comes the fact that men also have more idiots.. Please dont use that tired old excuse that women were oppressed as the reason they didn't innovate, invent or build.. Additionally take a look at construction, and road building. You see very few women that actually want to do that kind of work because its either too hard for them, or... Are you ready for it? Women in general aren't suited for hard labor and construction. Its amazing how much feminism poisons young men and women's minds.
Additionally the one time we used a feminist built bridge it collapsed and killed people

You do realize, that there where a lot of women involved in the topics you listed?
Like in the development of computers, you can thank Grace Hopper for developing one of the first programming languages, COBOL.
Dont be so disrespectful and neglect women and their accomplishments in the past and present
You need tools, resources, knowledge to make anything from awful to amazing. The people who have access to those things get a chance to make something great. The things i hate are the people who slame the door behind them and step on people's hands clawing there way up.
"Oppression" has nothing to do with it.
Women aren't interested in building or inventing things. They aren't interested in taking wilderness or exploring frontiers.
They're interested in comfort and safety. They want to benefit from what men invent, from what men build, but they don't want to do any of the work.
We used to know this. Then we lost our minds and decided to pretend that women were 'equal' in every way.
Irresponsible rubbish.
Women's oppression is one, but it's not as prevalent nowadays, there's also mostly the people in "power" are men, giving them opportunities & technology to build these inventions.
I would say it's also due to genetic differences as well, causing personality & ambition changes etc
Because men and women are different. We rarely are interested in the same things and that is just the nature of being a man... more aggressive, problem solvers more interested in working with things... not people.
On a macro level men and women have different interests. Men have always been builders.
Europe has been for over 2500 years lived under some form of serfdom where both men and women peasants have been oppressed by both male and female nobles. This proves that your hypothesis of historical women's oppression is false. Women were the most well taken care of people in a society for they are the mothers of our children, they raise our working class, our farmers and our kings! How can we oppress the people that allow for great innovators to be born? The only reason why these men have been able to invent so much is because of the women they were raised by.
you answered your own question with your last sentance
Women's "oppression" isn't the reason.
Women who wanted to do something, worked hard for it and did it. It's just most women didn't want it.
Because in the past women were taking care of the kids the whole time, it’s how gender roles used to be, as for building things most women hate construction work so they simply don’t do it
Men were interested in development, new things. Most of them have stayed away from women. Back in past they wanted to serve country or make things useful for people.
It was time when it was normal for women to stay at home and not even know how to read
You nailed it. It definitely has to do with patriarchal society.
Well women weren't oppressed without reason
Why do you think only men built the railroads and everything? Because only men could do the heavy lifting
Because guys usually work dangerous jobs. Guys usually try and build stuff to impress women.
But women built the men...
Patriarchal society!!
You answered it yourself.
Because men have bigger brain.
Because nature thats why.
Women raised the men/women who did all of that
Women had no rights back then
Nah, girls are built to receive.
Look up Grace Hopper
