What distinguishes a caring guy from a needy guy?

In my opion they mean the same thing, which all boils down to being a NICE GUY. If you want a girl don't go down that route. Ok say you meet a girl she's hot she's sweet and nice and you go damn I want her.

So then one day she gets sick and you think to yourself that's perfect rush in there and be her night in shinning aremor right? Wrong don't do that, unless she specifically says can you come over and keep me company, if she doesn't say that then don't offer your serivces if she's NOT your gf. If you do that you have shot yourself in the foot, she will think awww how sweet of him to want to do that for me, then you go over there and she goes you are so sweet, thank you. Those are the words of death my friends if your trying to hook up with her. Sweet equals friend not boy friend.

Look she's what 20 something, its not like she hasn't been sick before, women are not made of glass they can do just fine by themselves, and that right there is what the problem, some guys think that women are made of glass and if you make them mad the world will end, hell no its not going to end.

So say she is your girlfriend then yes she will probably want you to go over there and take care of her but if she's not then just say sorry to hear that your sick if you need anything you have my number, and end it end of story.

A caring guy gives attention, and a needy guy needs it.

If your girlfriend is hurt, you go to her side in be with her.

Or, you're hurt, so your girlfriend goes to YOUR side to be with YOU.

That's the difference. In a relationship, there needs to exist a healthy balance of the two. IF a person is too caring it usually means they aren't opening up and willing to let the other person in to help him or her, and if the person is too needy then the relationship becomes more like a chore.

In my opinion, a needy guy is the type of guy who NEEDS a girl around, all the time. He has to see her daily, and when he doesn't, he gets upset or angry.

A caring guy will respect a girls choice to hang out with her friends, and when he gets to see her, then he's happy to see her. A caring guy will come to visit her when she's sick, even if she says that she doesn't want him to get sick. But he doesn't NEED her around all the time, he's happy to see her a few days a week, but doesn't need to see her 24/7.

A caring guy can take care of his girl while READING her signals, and having nothing to do with himself. he doesn't do nice things in hopes of getting reassurance that she likes him, he does them to grow the relationship and be a good boyfriend. A needy guy does things to get reassurance and also, he doesn't take hints. Like if a girl says "thats sweet, but I'm busy" he'll get worried and just try again, as if that's going to change anything.

They are VERY similar. Almost impossible to tell.

Often times girls mix up to two, unfortunately. A really great guy, who's oftentimes very self confident and is the life of the party becomes a needy-seeming quiet person next to a girl he really cares for, it all depends.
