His death brought upon an Empire far more tyrannical than Caesar himself truly aspired for. His goal was for the people and he even spared his frienemies in the most dramatic and heart-warming of ways.

The fools of the court and its conspirators brought forth exactly what they were hoping to defeat, when they could have had the man that loved them as much as he could muster. He was a neat king although equally terrifying sure. You really can't talk about him being scary in this time-period because it's.. it's fuckin antiquity what do you want? LOL

Do you think he could have done things differently to land on the throne and still have the support of those that conspired against him to reign (because were their reasons for conspiring against him his improper approach? He sparked a civil war)?

Well I imagine he did his fair share of talking and I can also imagine he babbled to the entire senate on more than one occasion about his pursuits, but he should have professed his love for the people and say "Do you really think I want to be ~against~ you? For what? Raising my own armies and taking land far away for our Republic? It should be clear, I don't want to strip your powers, although I have certainly insulted them. One must understand that at times, a man that goes against established principles must come to life because they will be the driving force for something greater and beyond even the originator's intention."

The senate was terrified, not even Caesar could probably have delved so deeply as they were probably very much more focused on the things unfolding before his very eyes. The dude was a huge collectivist and you could sorta consider the senate individualists.. well.. actually yeah, they were. That was the only difference, the senate feels like bureaucracy as a result all the while they're chirping about tyrants, it's ironic.

They all were very emotional, I am sure you heard about when Julius talked to Brutus (and others) after Macedon, forgiving him for everything. The grief and reactions were astounding, including the leaders like Pompei. It was gut-wrenching. Only the right words could have solved this but it was too far wrapped in reality, because this Christmas miracle type shit works on text more than anything else in the real world.

No, I'm studying the rise and fall of the Roman republic. Julius Caesar comes across as a good and bad person and I was looking for some insight from what others think of him. It seemed to me his loving was a bit twisted, for instance, his clemency and that he was quite a lonely man in the end. He was generous to his enemies. His friends betrayed him. As you say, he may have talked with them and they may have talked with him. They may have decided no one was going to listen to the other. They had to do things their way. It does seem he truly cared for his people and had a lot he wanted and could do for them but the senate was in the way. Thanks :)

About the formation of Alexander's main army, i read about the Hellenistic phalanx when i was studying about the Romans and i drew a picture of it in my book, it has such a simple structure that it is genius. The video is so much as I had imagined it, it just feels so much more real now. :)
