I'm in America, and the public transit here is used by people of all demographics and economic levels.
Where do you live, Asker? I'm being serious. Around here public transport is just that - public transport.
Also, NEVER be afraid to be treated as a "lower class person". You can only learn from it.
no, but i hate it. i use it to commute to school as i live in the countryside. if i could, i’d go by scooter like some guys my age do.
Of course not! Everyone with some level of education knows that it is a very conscious decision to stop using cars all the time!
No, cuz y would I be? It doesn't change how people view you that much. And most people from my school use public transportation so I'm fine
It depends on where you are! Some places, yes and you might find yourself in difficulties! In other places, it’s an everyday life and it might sound arrogant to ask this question! It’s up to you to judge depending on where you’re!
I rarely use it, but no, I don't feel ashamed.
Where I live it's generally easier to drive, but when I have a distance to travel, I will take a train.
I take public transportation whenever I can. It's so convenient, and you don't have to worry about parking. Construction workers are not a threat. You need to get with reality and stop thinking your so special!!!
No not ashamed. I just don't feel safe usually, especially on buses
No I've used public transportation off and on for years.
where do you live? i ask because where im from public transport is more about convienience than 'status' so it would be interesting to know
I don't. I just don't like it as much as biking when the distance is doable because I feel I have more control.
i wish i could bike i can't though i have a equilibrium balance trouble when i'm on a bike. walking im fine but on a bike i can't balance it because of a brain issue i have.
No, I take public transportation regularly and I don't feel ashamed. Taking public transportation doesn't make you a loser.
Nope, there's nothing wrong with using public transport.
If anything you're helping to reduce pollution.
If people used public transportation more there would be less traffic. It's not shameful. It's funny that you think you are somehow better than the "peasants".
i just walk, its good exercise and i dont gotta deal with people
In big cities anyone can shamelessly use public Transit. In my city there is an obvious clientele.
Not at all. In London it's the only way you can get anywhere. It's a great social leveller.
Not at all. In a lot of areas, most people do use public transportation.
It's not shameful, but in my area public transit is wonderful if you want to take as long to get there as possible. A 10 minute car trip is 45 mins, assuming the transfers line up. A complete joke
Why be ashamed it gets YOU from A to B faster than walking
No for me its been the exact opposite i actually beat the bus numerous times getting from point A to point B by walking. see my references above as to why
Public transport is an abomination, its disgusting. Cities are better with everything on walking distance.
Well I live in NYC everyone here uses it. There is no shame at all its actually better than driving traffic is crazy here and there is no parking
I know is some cities, some people would judge you. In big cities like NYC, no one cares, it's way more convenient and cheaper to use PT in NYC
Nope. When you need to say time money and don’t need to pay for parking. Public transportation is the way
It's normal in Germany. We use public transportation for getting to work/school, to travel and getting around. Not everyone has a car in Germany
I don’t like them, I don’t use them. I don’t judge people for using it though, it exists for a reason.
Well I used to take a car to work and I feel it to be an upgrade. No more bridges to cross, no more waking up at 4am to make it to work at 8... anyways I won't go back to a car ever.
I use public transportation very rarely but i dont feel ashamed in using it
No I love it , it's a great way to meet friends and make new ones !!!
When it is busy the bus gets crowded and it can be fun stood next to a lass, you don't know if she is bumping into by accident or not but who cares. The trip I had I had finished work pulled into bus station in next town. I'm sat in the corner on the back seat thinking I would be out of the way when young girls and lads got on the bus. Everyone started pile on this girwas crammed up to me next thing she is sat on my knee. One lads said he will be getting a hard on with you on his knee so she puts a hand under her ass a touches me , she said no, but looked at me and smiled knowing I was getting there. It didn't stop her bouncing on my knee, then put her arm round my neck was beginning to think I was dreaming. She saying you are a lovely man. We get to her stop and she gives me a kiss on the lips and thanks for the seat !!!
I live in a big city, getting downtown with an actual personal car would be pretty annoying.
It depends where you live I guess. I don’t have a choice I need a car
Yea cause where I live which is the suburbs everyone has a car so not to have one has one so take public transportation is a shock
I've used it since I was 13 and now I'm 20 and I still use it because I ride for free. I rather save my money.
Only the dumbest gearhead meatheads on the planet would think negatively of people using public transportation.
yes. i feel like so ordinary... but i'm a special snowflake
I’m not ashamed at all to use public transportation. I’m saving money, big time.
Nah I don't feel shame at all but soon I'm able to afford mine own car
Yes but u see people of all. cultures on them. LMFAO you're just insecure
If you can't drive like me, I don't make it a problem, but I think about it lately. Even emimnem said in the movie 8 mile " Franchise, I'm drinking a fucking bus to work man"
I do drive now and I own 3 cars.
Why do you own so many cars lol
You're 25-29, looks like your parents spoiled ya. White privilege
1 daily driven, 1 sports car only for the weekend with open top, 1 4wd
Hahaha I'm not white. People so quick to to think I'm white. I'm Asian fyi
You only feel of the lower class because you were raised that you were better than everyone else, not an equal. You're privledged. Have you ever gave anything to the kids and people in need?
Yes I have. I sign up for feed-a-family program and sometimes if I have small money I would give them to the beggars.
*small change
I live in a college city. Most students are too broke to have a car, and so either walk, bike, or use public transportation. No one cares at all
In a world where global warming is happening what brings shame is to NOT using public transportation vehicles
I do but I’m not so embarrassed by it because I can’t drive. I’m 4’7 short and I would get laughed at if I try to get my driving lessons
I don’t drive (oh, the shame) so I use the bus all the time. No shame here
No cause it could only way get around or go into the city.
No I feel silly because I’m unsure how it all works.
What? That is so stupid, why would you even think of that? That is such a shallow view point
Nope not ashamed because those who are using public transport are also humans.
why lol no who cares what people think
care about what they do
Never... all this things made 4 us... but government..
Yes, I am.
The system in my country is generally unreliable.
So you do feel the shame too?
Yes, what I described is the shame I feel.
I see, finally somebody actually agree with me!
I wouldn’t be ashamed actually I’d probably prefer it if I had it more here. Only if it was safer everywhere else though.
Guys dont care if girls are rich or poor. Only girls find that attractive. Psychology
I think you must have answered the wrong question.. We don't talk about gender nor attractiveness here.
Sorry
Dont feel ashamed. In Asia everyone rides buses. Famous people do it, I know nobles who have done it
No, why on earth would I?
"I feel that people will judge me if I utilize them, as someone from lower social status and I should feel ashamed because they are for peasants." - This makes absolutely no sense.
Nah, I use public transport everyday.
I’ve never used it. I drive.
No. It's not shameful.
No. Unsafe yeah, not ashamed
Why would people feel ashamed to use public transportation? If they do well they have some mental problems for sure
Our parents discourage us from using them anyway.
why? are u rich or milliionaires?
I don't know. Probably they dont want us to get kidnapped or anything when we were younger?
Listen not many of us have a choice in the matter. I myself don't because of my bad vision. But when my vision was better than it is now i was dishing out THOUSANDS and I mean THOUSANDS on cars what was WAY below blue book value. I was paying more for insurance alone than my two cars combined were worth. And the amount of repairs and maintance nearly killed me financially each time something happened. Plus gas was over 2.45 to 3 change at the time when i owned my two cars. And i had numerous blowouts with sleazy mechanics over the years about my cars passing and not passing inspection. And sleazy mechanics who tried screwing me on repairs I couldn't do myself. But again taking the bus also sucks as well. See my references above. Someone like me wishes neither cars nor public transportation EXCEPT subways existed so people would be forced to either walk or use a horse to get around. Not joking when I say that either.
@RobLovesDemi4ever fuel is relatively cheap where I live because it is subsidized by the government as an oil producing country.
Well guess what here gas costs over 2.45 a gallon sometimes more and if a tank of gas only holds 15 gallons so you do the math on that and add that up by a week and a half to every two weeks and see how quick that expense adds up
Nope, not really, life must suck for you quite often if you worry so much about people who don't really give a flying fuck about you.
Because of status.
What?
Why are you being a dick, dude?
@Thatsamazing I'm just being honest. It is really shallow to think someone is worse because they use public transport. In places like London or NYC it is quite normal for millionaires to use the subway/metro. Like dafuq? What shithole one must come from to think this way?
@Thatsamazing "I only took a bus as a dare" ... DAFUQ? (O_o)
@Thatsamazing Being 25-29 and ashamed to use the bus isn't normal.
... I know, I'm referring to your "life must suck for you" crap.
@Thatsamazing Exactly. ❤️
@Thatsamazing it must suck, she is worried about trivial things that no one pays attention to, 100% sure there are more things she worries about that keep her from simply being herself and accepting life as it is..
@Thatsamazing people should just be themselves no matter what, without feeling ashamed for it, we have one life, live it as your own not as others tell you to.
I actually have a good stable life. It does not suck as you assume it is. I'm just curious if this is the same thing anywhere else in the world.
@asker what country are you from?
@Thatsamazing just look at the uptade, not only she is shallow she is also a racist... There is a lot of weird stuff going on in that head of hers...
Please be civil.
@asker I am civil, I'm just pointing out the facts.
You sound so upset with me and respectfully your opinion does not contribute anything. Thank you for your kind understanding.
Yeah I know you won't change. This needs no debate.
... also I'm not upset with you, you do you. I just wanted to say that living a life based on racist stereotypes sounds like a shitty way to live ones life. Take care.
How am I racist when I do not even state any race in my update? They could probably be whites, haha!
You think it is unsafe to be around people who came to your country in a search of a better life. It doesn't get much more racist than this, well maybe walking around with tiki torches, but lets not get into that xD...
People have only one life, many of them travel the globe to make it as good as possible, because the place they came to this world isn't in the best state, attacking you on the way to some shitty job is the last thing on their mind.
Preach.
Aww thank you 💕
