I think a lot of women find it borderline offensive, but I don't. I think it's just kinda cute. I call other women chicks sometimes. I think it depends on how a person uses it. If a person means to be insulting, it will come out as insulting.
But I don't personally get upset about it.
Slut, ho and bitch are the ones that, really bug me, though I will call myself a bitch sometimes in a humorous way.
One that I have personally adopted is broad. When people call me a lady, sometimes I tell them i am no lady, I'm a broad. A broad is a woman who has experienced life, especially some of the hard stuff, and has a bit of toughness. For me, it's kind of like a title I have earned.
I always thought a girl was called a broad because she had wide hips and a big ass, like the "broad side" of a barn.
I mean does it look like i go CHIRP CHIRP? lmaooo. But on a serious note, it's just off putting to hear. I know the original usage of "chick" isn't derogatory at all, but over the decades in the media like in some shows or movies where it's idea was used to demean women just kind of rubbed off on the majority of us.. In person you never know how a girl is going to react to being called that and there's sooooo many other alternatives in the English language to use, so avoiding the word all together would be my best take haha.
I mean i don't really know when you would get a chance to actually call a girl that right to her face... As a guy I 'personally' don't think it's a way to refer to someone a girl is good enough, but i also don't think it's something to throw a fuss around, boys and men are called 'dudes' all the time and it's not offensive to us. I think it's more a word you would use with friends while referring to 'chicks' in general and not one specific girl and it's probably not going to be in company of other women i'd imagine
Psychology studies show that even feminists prefer sexist men over their simping butt kissing male friends. So the answer is that if you want to be a traditional man, worry less about what women want & more about what you.

I don’t care. I say it myself. 🤷🏻♀️
I personally hate it. I think other girls don't really like it either.
What part of it do you hate about it?
Is there any particular reason why you hate being called a chick?
It sounds kinda mean and it's a bit impudent. I'm no chick-en lol Imagine if we'd casually call guys dogs for example. It's just bad.
Of course they like it. they have eggs don't they? lol j/k I couldn't resist. :P
@AynonOMouse Hahahaha that was such am offensive that literally so many girls literally "Disliked" it 😂 all except me of course. I wasn't offended at all 😂
*an offensive Joke
I do not like it for I am not a bird which is what a chick is ! Try calling your chick by her name , or girl. lady or woman and see how she reacts ! thanks
I don't say "chick" very often, but when I call my girl a chic, she knows I mean she she looks or acted in a particularly cute and attractive manner, and she likes it.
anything can offend people for example I called a female in her 20's ma'am out of respect & she took it the wrong way. She then proceeded to tell me I'm not that old. My response I don't know your name I couldn't think of anything else to say. i could've been a asshole & called her bitch, hoe, broad, chick, or female.
Better than being called an asshole, right? I've gotten my share of that and also being called a cow or fatso.
you are not a fat chick
@Poormanscomedian Well you have never seen me, although I have posted a pic of my fat body - dressed of course.
when?
@Poormanscomedian Awhile back - actually several times - when the question was about being overweight.
If I was a girl I'd MUCH rather be called a chick, than a bitch!!
I don't really care. Honestly, I think of chicks as being like hot or popular girls, which I am not, so I don't consider myself a chick, LOL.
It really depends on how it's used. It can be used in a cute way and it can be used in a condescending way.
I couldn't care less... I guess because English is not my mothertongue I don't give it any special connotation... So I don't like it or dislike it
I don't know why but there's something irritating about it. I don't get offended by it, but I just hate the sound of the word. Like if someone called me a chick I wouldn't hate them but it'd gross me out.
I call other females chicks. I don't really care if someone calls me a chick but sometimes it depends on the tone because it can sound rude.
In my town everyone calls everyone chick its not aimed towards good looking females, its similar to calling someone dear or sweetheart in are dialect
I ordinarily use Miss, Ms, or Ma'am. "Chick" is not routinely part of my lexicon. Neither is, "baby girl" or 'baby' anything as it seems so damn 'street' to me.
Eh, it doesn’t bother me per se but I’d rather be called other things.
In a fun way or so its fine.. otherwise i get offended even when a stranger calls me babe
I don't really mind being called it, it's alright to me.
Chick, No. Call me baby girl, princess, slut whore, or bitch and we'll get along just fine.
Sir?
No. Call me a chick and I'll pretend like I don't hear or see you.
Personally I think it sounds kind of stupid, but it’s not offensive or anything.
Do women like being called girls?
Do baby chickens object to women being called chicks?
Depends on the context I guess. There are other names I prefer
If it's in a joking way, I don't care, but it would sound weird if someone said it seriously.
I've never thought of calling a girl chick, only referring to girls as chicks with my mates.
I've heard they prefer bitches, hoes and skanks
On a serious note, i dont know. I call them women if they are adults and girls if they aren't
I personally have never called and girl a chick. But I don't see what would be offensive about it. A chick is someone that is hot. It is like calling a guy a hunk.
Not likely. If you were likened to a baby hatchling chicken, would it bother you?
No, they don't and that is why I love to use that word.
I don't mind it, but I like being more classy and for my man to be
It sounds a bit dated does it not? Everybody has their own preference I guess.
yes.. by my man.. im his chick.. chickee...
Maybe in a America not in UK though
Who cares what they like or think.
If they get triggered or "offended" tell them to grow the fuck up and stop being a fucking child.
Nah not really. If it's joking, I'm cool with it tho
Nope. I don't cot cot
I prefer it, actually.
Chicana
Feel like there are a lot worse things to be called lol. Personally dont care.
I don’t really mind it
I prefer to call them 'dude'
I call them a 4 letter word that starts with C and rhymes with blunt
let me imagine being a girl... wouldn't care
Stop calling girls "Chicks". Broads hate that!
No, I don’t. I prefer being called a lady
I never even really give thought to it.
It doesn't bother me
