Gamer-girls where do you go to meet guys?

I'm a gamer-guy, so I'm interested in finding a girl who shares my interests. I feel as though we would have a more fun/exciting relationship if we shared a passion together.

My biggest problem though is that a gamer by definition tends to be introverted, so how do I meet someone if I can't find them?

The problem with gamer-peeps is that we don't really WANT to *go* anywhere. We want to play video games. O_O

My attempts to "get out there" are things like Anime Club. I joined karate recently, and that's probably boosted my friend pool a good 30%. Haha. I got lucky there and everyone else is near my age and interested in geek culture too!

I don't really go out to bars because I'm not much of a drinker. We used to have a gamer cafe in town, but it went belly up because they only catered to the first person shooters (they should have started other things too, like a pokemon league or puzzle gaming nights. The FPS players either are casual and aren't going to come in too often, or hardcore and have dedicated gaming equipment they don't have to share.) If that was still around I'd be going there.

I think once the days start getting longer I may go hang out at the library. It's not a very good meet-up spot really, but it's more social than my living room, I guess. Plus, free wifi! I could totally go play DS or something.

Gamers should have a secret code...wearing an empty heart meter=single and looking. XD Then we could just challenge each other to Smash Bros on the street.

People in general should wear something on their outer person to indicate that they're single and looking, maybe it's about time someone started that =/

Also with what you were saying, I have thought about going to Otakon, Otaku con, and if those SOB's weren't so exclusive about it, E3. But, I'm not so sure that would be the best place to meet people seeing as how people are not there to hook-up, they're far more interested in the stands and events.

Something about meeting someone at a convention gives me the creeps. >_> I wouldn't mind going with someone, though. I guess it must be that no one is really at their best at a convention. You're there to buy stuff and laugh at in-jokes! XD

I got into online dating hoping that gamer-girls would be tech-savy enough to know to go there to look for a guy, I mean if you don't leave the house why not let the net advertise for you, right? So far I've had no luck there though =(

I tried that too, but I'll admit, it scares me a little. What if they're really a crazy axe murderer? What if they think you misrepresented yourself and get huffy?

The scariest one: What if you can't find someone you really like? What if it proves you're incapable of love and doomed to a lonely existence? D=

I actually am trying to psych myself up for another attempt now, which is why I am here looking at dating tips from lonely people who don't actually know what they're doing. XD

I just hung around and found a guy who likes the same type of games I do. Or you can convert them into gamers. My boyfriend doesn't play as many games anymore, which is saddening. But I got him to by WoW and now we play together. A chick may not be into it just try to make one out of her haha. I say this because, I do nothing different really...well, yea I am introverted. So I guess that's part of the problem no?

I'm not a hardcore gamer-- but if a guy doesn't play video games, even a little bit, it's a turn-off, lol~

But, me and my non-hardcore gamer friends are just... normal people, lol

And I feel like it's really easy for me to find the gamer chicks in my school, if need be.

So.. just ask around~ there are more hidden in your school than you think :D

"more hidden than you think" - you're not joking about that. I bumped into a lab-mate the other night and come to find out SHE was a gamer, pretty hardcore at that. She already has a b/f, not to mention she's not really my type, but hey, if anything this proves the fact that they're out there... hiding.

your local or nearby major college should have a "Gamer's Guild" where the meet in the evenings and game until dawn or whenever security kicks them out. You won't find such clubs at small colleges, normally takes a place of at least 10,000 or more students. You will definitely find a few women there. The problem is that gamers know the value of a game-chick and will be all over them real quick, real fast. Never in all my years have I met a single gamer-girl who didn't have a boyfriend. I think you have to get them right when they turn 18 or BAM! Taken.

Game Over.

If this doesn't work, you can always find students who can create a gamers guild.

Another idea is to hang out at the game stores.

Hang out at Game Stop and see f any girls walk in, try to casually look for games in the ailse they are looking in. Maybe you'll strike up a convo.
Go to internet cafe, the girl in the back screaming at her computer is probably a raging gamer girl. OR just look around to see if any of the girls are gaming, and come over interested in their game.
Try online dating, you never know for sure if its a creeper or not so be careful.
Lastly play multiplayer games and chat it up in the lobby asking where peeps are from. Then ask how many people are girls and maybe you'll find her :)
It takes patience.

Maybe you're right, I'm yet to try that. I guess I just feel somewhat nervous about doing that seeing as how it would be seemingly difficult to strike up a conversation in that kind of a setting... then again I haven't tried so who I am to talk.

Oh, believe me it's extremely easy to start a conversation. Just ask them about their costume or something and you'll be off to a great start. I love it when guys ask about my different cosplays. If you aren't into girls who cosplay then there are usually gaming rooms where you can compete and such. There you may be able to meet other non-cosplayers.

Oh, I'm not against the cosplaying girls, trust me, I'd be right there with them if it didn't cost so much to put together a "good" outfit.

Thanks for the advice though, because of you I've decided I'm going to attend Otakon this year and see what happens, if nothing else I know I'll have fun, so heck, it's a win win situation ^_^
