Hmmm baseball is most popular in north america and south america. I'd say cricket is more of a European and w/e countries were dominated by British Imperialism.
I don't mean that to be offensive but that is probably why it is more popular in India.
Honostly I don't like either sport. I actually had to look up what cricket was because I never heard of it before for w/e reason.
Is this based off population or number of countries where it's the top sport?
Cricket, just with India, Sri-Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh you have almost 2 billion people and all of these countries are cricket fanatics. West India even has cricket wickets on their national flag. I don't think you get any other sport that can claim that. Then you have many other countries where it is not the main sport but one of the national sports and it is also growing in popularity in Europe and Africa.
I would have to go with baseball because it has been in the Olympics more than cricket. Baseball was actually voted to be in the 2012 Summer Olympics. Cricket has been approved for the 2020 Summer Olympics though. Overall baseball has been played more in the Olympics than cricket. I think baseball is played more throughout the world though.

World wide I'd have to say Cricket, but I'm from the US and Baseball is the American pass time. Personaly I really don't care about either, other then the fact that the College World Serise comes to town every summer and while it's here I can't go to the Zoo. :)
I'd be tempted to say cricket, because its practiced worldwide, whereas Baseball is mostly an american thing. But... I think that Cricket is less popular, in more places, where Baseball is extremely popular in less places. I dunno
Well, Cricket is mostly played by Commonwealth, countries (England, Australia, India, South Africa etc) while Baseballs played by America and Japan (I think D:)
Overall, since India is part of the Commonwealth, and has a population of 1.1 Billion people, I'd say by person count, Cricket wins :D
Baseball is played in America, and they only have domestic teams (MLB). Cricket is played in over 116 countries with 2 billion people enjoying it. Cricket is the 2nd most popular sport after football. Cricket is like a religion in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Britain, Australia and New Zealand, India, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Cricket, because if you see the countries that play cricket, like India which has a sixth of the worlds population, then most probably the people who like cricket just from India are more than the entire population of the USofA.
I`d have to say cricket. My father is a big fan of it and now my younger brother has got into it.
I have played both and cricket is for little bitches, its not even fun to watch but then again neather is baseball.
