I believe gender is the language used to define a person's Sex. A female has a vagina, a male has a penis. It is not accurate to say that a female who as a vagina is a male. Because the definition of a male is a person who has the opposite genitalia. A female can conform to the socially accepted gender norms of a male. Having a personality of that on average that applies to males. And a male vice versa. Instead of using gender terminology, (Male, female) to describe someone's identity, we should use "Grammatical Gender" those terms are Masculine, Feminine. This would be MUCH more appropriate to define a person's identity as opposed to using Male, Female. Since male and female is determined by what's between your legs. Whereas Masculine and Feminine is determined by the interests and personality a person's retains. It is a FACT, that females traditionally are more emotional, and males are more Logical. So as far as thinking is concerned it can be said that Emotional thinking is Feminine, and logical thinking is Masculine. So a female, can retain the Masculine trait of Logical thinking. And a Male can retain the feminine trait of Emotional thinking. There should be a middle ground after all every compare contrast chart (Venn diagram) has the middle for comparable traits. Men and woman are equally as good at math, and at science. So math and science is neither masculine nor is it feminine. Being good at math is ______ we need a word for it. I suppose that could be used as the new non binary. (500 characters left) however Women have been proven to be better at Language arts, so reading and writing. So reading and writing would be a feminine trait. And Men have been proven to be better at sports, so sports are a Masculine trait. So i don't believe in Transgenderism. I believe you are either male or woman, but you can have either masculine or femine Gender traits/characteristics. And those are what you should choose to identify yourself with. If you want to do so at all.
In my view, there are only men and women. That is dictated by what you're born with.
If you are a male that wishes to go by 'she', i just believe you like things that are considered for women more than you like things considered for men. But i dont see that as making you a feminine man or something like that. Its just society making you think that way because it has to split everything and categorize everything. Which i think is stupid.
Thats an issue of today, we think that those who are trans are mentally ill, when they aren't. They just prefer different things and people feel the need to categorize it. People are not comfortable when someone does not follow the norm and therefore classify it as an illness. We are quick to say something is wrong with a person because they dont follow the norm. Thats not fair or right, everyone is their own person first and foremost. Yes, there are things that are legitimately an illness, but an issue with identification isn't an illness. Its a problem with how society decided to classify different things and say you must fall into a category.
For example a male that likes to play with dolls, thats not a problem. He shouldn't feel like he needs to be called by 'she' because of it. Its a very simplified problem, yes, but it gets the point across. I know there are many more complicated things, but I still say that falls under social construct and not nature.
TL;DR There are only men and women. What you identify as is because of social construct, which needs to be removed (the social construct). But you are still a man or woman, which is determined by birth.

He has those feminine attributes, which makes him feel more feminine than masculine, so there grow he wants to be called she. However he is most definitely Feminine. Transgender is a mental illness no matter what way you look at it. It's a mental denial to your physical identity of male or female. Is that why they are transgender? I believe it is because we try to push them to be a certain way because of how they look. So instead of changing how they are, they change how they look- or try to. Again, I dont know any transgender people and haven't spoken to any. So I do not know if it is actually an issue of their body or their personality and how we treat them. Gender is not a social or cultural construct. If you have a penis you are male, you have a vagina you are female. There shouldn't be the principal that you can interchange your gender like it's a name tag. You gender is what you biologically are, sex and gender is the same thing. The social construct that you can choose which gender you are, is what needs to be removed. Not gender itself.
I used to agree with you on sex and gender being the same thing, but unfortunately they aren't. 1 is a social construct, while the biological one is sex. I dont agree with it, but thats how it is. Gender energy (masculine and Feminine) are based off of averages, what is culturally normal for a male or woman to do or express themselves by. A male like cars, a girl likes horse. Since more girls happen to like horses more than boys seem to like horses, we can call horses a feminine trait. there is nothing wrong thought with a guy who likes horses. The terms feminine and Masculine are just describing preference of the average gender. Or gender norms.

But you understand that that's primarily the care because kids are entertained by the toys that interest them the most. Most boys will grab a Superman action figure most girls will grab Barbie and her prom dress outfit. So when a boy goes to school and he's talking to his friends about his new Barbie doll he will be the outcast of the group in comparison to the amount of boys that bought Superman. And when they realise that most of the girls have bought barbies they will say that he likes girly things because more girls have been associated with having such a toy than the other. And vice versa. This is what I mean these social constructs are based off of. And it's impossible to get rid of them.
If you understood then I do not know why you had to ask what we could use if we got rid of male and female. Moving on: This comes down to a difference in view point here. Yes, they will pick their own things and see that that one boy does not follow the norm. But your then saying that the children themselves are determining what is for boys and what is for girls. However I believe that is not being decided by the children entirely on their own. They see commercials that portray boys using the superman, and girls using the barbey. Which influences what they do and pick. Kind of similar to the difference between a black and white doll. Why do children think the white doll looks prettier? Because that is what they see and are 'told' through society and its commercials, etc.
I disagree with the concept of gender entirely. There are 2 sexes. Man and woman. Those who use the term gender often believe that a person's gender can be many different things based on the way a person thinks or feels; how they see themselves. However, they will also say that Man and Woman are gender options. I'm sure we've all heard some guy say "I feel like a woman today", yet they can't tell you what that feels like. Even if they could, a woman who identifies as a woman would probably tell you being a woman feels entirely different. There are traits and activities that are traditionally or statistically associated with one of the 2 sexes, but wanting to do things that aren't typically associated with your sex doesn't change your biology. Personally, I think the tension about all this gender identity, transgender stuff would go away if we all would recognize that our contemporary understanding of the term "gender" is at best a misunderstanding. At worst, it's a fabrication. So again I say do away with the whole concept of Gender. Let there be men and women who do whatever they want.

It’s defining who u want to be, not others to tell you what u should be. Gender doesn’t have to be explicitly male and female. A female may have a masculine energy. And a male could have a feminine energy. Or a person regardless of his/her gender can have both energy. In reality, gender just defines your physical looks. It doesn’t define u as an individual.

Well if gender is just about what you identify as and their are only 2 (or 3 if you consider hemaphrodites a separate sex) then how have we got to the 30 odd different genders? I can think of 5 which I could argue are legitimate those being man, woman, intersex, trans man or trans woman.
Gender has been used as a synonym for sex since the 1600s if you want to use it in its usage before then you have to take into consideration that caucasian is a gender, middle class is a gender even your family name is a kind of gender.
My point is that people who say sex and gender are different is bullshit because they will then say a transwoman is a woman. That doesn't make sense since male is a biological sex and man is an adult male therefore a transwoman is still biologically a male therefore adult trans women are men.

Man and woman are genders, they are determined by performance and appearance. You're getting them mixed up. Though these are flexible definitions that people use in different ways. Sex and gender are often linked and used interchangeably.

See that thing between your legs that you pee and have sex with? That's your gender. If it's an inny, you're a girl, if it's an outty, you're a boy. If you have both, you're a hermaphrodite, or an F to M transgender. And, it doesn't mater if you've got a man-made inny, you're still a woman.

Biological sex and gender mean the SAME THING. God made us EITHER male or female. One or the other. Only two. NO more, no less. God intended females to play female roles, and for males to play male roles. Females will ALWAYS be females. Males will ALWAYS be males. If you try to transplant sex organs from one sex/gender to another sex/gender, you will only have freaks with damaged minds running around.
You're pretty right on the money, except that people who don't identify as their biological sex don't use the words "male" and "female". So, what you've outlined is what's already happening ;)

I feel like with so many people, mostly women, complain how there are so few "real men" anymore, I start to suspect that gender is personality + genitals.

I can can understand your point of view, but hormones play a big part in who we are. Like myself outwardly I'm male, but I have softer skin vertically no body her , facial features are softer more like a female smaller penis and testicles. Up to being 16 i looked like a girl. Use to pass as one when got dressed up. Also you can get females who are more male they need to shave of facial hair and body hair.
Gender to me is the reflections of a society on the behaviour of humans in that society, and how that society attempts to deal with this biological reality.

I'm actually rather educated on the matter I just disagree in regards to what today's progressive and liberal society describes as gender. Gender and sex have been interchangeable throughout history up untill now. Even the concept (word) transgender is new. It's obvious words are made up, and those words are used to help communication between individual. So I I come up to anyone and ask, what's your gender. If it's a woman I expect them to say female. And if it's a man I expect them to say male. Nothing more nothing less. Though because women are females, and men are males. It's not nessesary to ask for gender in the first place. Assuming gender is perfectly fine because gender is associated with biologically identity physical properties. Whether it's a penis a vagina boobs or an Adams apple. Gender is not a abstract construct that can be thrown around. You are female I am male. At least supposedly you are female.

It is but shouldn't be. It's wrong to declare that gender is mental not biological. The same way you possibly could be white and I am black. I can't think I'm white, nor could you think your black. You can inculcate black culture. And the same as I. But we will never both truly be the opposite race. That is a biological concept not an abstract one. And anything pertaining to genes is such.
