Well, I have no problem with it although I have no desire to make it a lifestyle. Indeed, my girlfriend and I tend to be quite casual about nudity.
To start, I grew up in a family where dad was a doctor. He tended to treat nudity as just another day at the office and so my family tended to be relaxed about it. I only saw dad naked if we were at the gym locker room. I never saw mom naked. However, seeing my older brother and sister and younger brother naked - and they me - was not unusual.
With my girlfriend and I and our three children, again, we tend to be casual around the house. My girlfriend and I have also been to nude beaches and the like.
We also have neighbors who are nudists and have invited us to a naturist camp they attend. We have gone three times - once with the kids, the other times just my girlfriend and I - and enjoyed it each time. The people were very friendly and welcoming and the facilities quite nice. A great way to spend a summer's day.
That said, we don't really feel the need to make it a lifestyle. Some do it for health reasons, some for social and we both understand that. However, it is not something we feel we need or that it would make our lives or that of our children dramatically better.
Nothing wrong with it or being proud of it. It is - as the word naturist suggests - natural. It is how we all were before civilization came along. Human and arguably healthy in its own right. However, to go beyond that seems, in its own way, as artificial as the clothes that most people wear.
So to each his own and there is certainly nothing for a nudist not to be proud of. So long as allowance is made for those who are not. (I would not go to the grocery store naked, indecent exposure charges aside.) For my part, though, and for my girlfriend and our children, it is just not that urgent a matter.
