Yes and no.
First, I feel extremely fortunate to have been born in the USA and to have lived here all my life.
I love the principals laid out in The Declaration of Independence and I love the Bill of Rights. Those things are unique only to the USA, and they make it potentially great.

But... history is one of my favorite subjects. I read lots of books on history and I'm not afraid to look at the truth. In fact, truth is what I seek, whether it supports what I previously believed or not.

So I know a lot about the amazing things that American people have accomplished, often against extreme adversity. But I am also aware of the hidden agendas and schemes of politicians and wealthy people throughout this country's history. I am aware of graft, theft, corruption, lies, conspiracies, exploitation, oppression, and murder.

In many or even most cases, Native Americans, citizens, and people in foreign lands have been treated horribly. But the Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights gave people in this country the tools with which to make gains in areas like worker's rights, women's rights, and equal treatment for blacks and other minorities.

Our history of imperialism is also shameful. Just since the end of WWII alone, we have murdered millions of innocent people and subjected millions more to tyranny. We didn't do that to defend democracy or human rights. It fact, our government's motives were the opposite.

I do love America, but I want it to be better. I want it to live up to the words, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men [and women] are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

For the most part, yes. It's a great country, I doubt I'd wanna live anywhere else but, there ARE issues that I hate about it or don't understand.
We're supposed to be the land of the free but, we're not allowed to walk around naked in public, smoke marijuana any time we like or pay taxes when we CAN instead when we HAVE to! (I'm pretty sure the Constitution says taxes are to be paid VOLUNTARILY!!)
I don't like that the feds/CIA, etc., have as much power as they do to the point where they can kill you or severely fuck over your life if you don't do what they tell you to do or if you say or do something they don't like.
I don't like that there's big companies like Dupont and Monsanto being ALLOWED to poison us at will with all the chemicals they spray on our food or pour into our water!!
I don't like that the tech we've had for decades, we're not allowed to have or even KNOW ABOUT!! For instance: we have the tech to run a motor (as in, cars, etc.) on WATER and the run-off from this (steam) can be collected and put right back into the fuel tank and used again and again!!
We've had nearly 400 known natural cures for cancer for at least 100 years yet NOBODY'S allowed to use any of them or know what they are!!
We've had the ability to travel to other galaxies since at least the `50's using, basically, the same tech in The Jetsons or even Star Trek but we're still putting around in Roman candles that can barely get us past the moon?

I generally distrust anyone being proud of their country, I heard WAY too many people praising their country like it's a fucking God or a goddamn miracle. Whereas they're just born randomly into a piece of land, whereas they are born from bloody History they conveniently ignore. Whereas they are tools and peons at the mercy of the next guru agitating a flag. I distrust submission to God. I distrust submission to Countries. I distrust submission to any master.

Also I distrust anyone confusing a country with a continent. America doesn't belong to US people. US belongs to US people. Spilling eagleshit everywhere you wish will not change that.

I distrust you, Dongie, fundamentally. Because you're proud of this.

But also, it's okay, we can still joke around, in spite of my distrust for you. I don't hate you, I hate your discourse, your pride. We're not even in the same place so it's fine, I don't have to hate for long anyway lol

Yes I am. Despite the dark history, the United States came so far and established a place where free speech is possible (not without consequences), we can legally use guns if we so chose, women aren’t second class citizens and so much more. I’m happy to live in such a free place, let alone be a born-citizen of it.

Yes, always was, even when Biden was in the White House and Woke was running amuck. The Left aren’t patriotic for the most part, only about 35% of them. They are lazy, weak, and expect to be given things they didn’t earn.
