I am a proud American. I teach the basics to my young students to be good citizens to our country when they grow up. This is our land and we need to bring back what this country represents and why/how it is formed.
I don’t know if that will ever happen again because it is being run by idiots for the past 50 years. Due to greed.
6/14 flag day. I spent time teaching them about the flag, they made/colored a paper flag. I put on songs like America the Beautiful on YouTube. They all stopped working and stared at the screen…I don’t know why we don’t sing these songs anymore in school. At lease we still recite our pledge or allegiance every morning ;)

Not sure what the pride flag being hung out means we aren't proud to be an American. I'm lgbt and I'm proud. Big supporter of our military too since I grew up with military parents and in a military city.

Proud to be an American, yes, but the proud of the country, hell no. Lawmakers, politics, law enforcement, judges, attorneys have all became greedy and let positions of power go to their head. It's all corrupt, and no one even knows that they're fighting for anymore.

The day the capitol building was rioted, I lost all faith in America. It's disgraceful, and disgusting that people who call themselves Americans behave like this. People should be ashamed of themselves. Soldiers are overseas, day by day fighting for this country, war or no war, they're still fighting, so we can have a better life, and how do these people show their appreciation? By destroying that they are fighting for.

Another disturbing thing, this country was founded by immigrants, and now all of a sudden, everyone is becoming racist against them. These people just want a better life. People lost focus on what the declaration of independence means.

Let's not "Make America Great Again". There was nothing wrong with it before. We have more freedom than a lot of other countries.

So, when I say I'm proud to be an America, I'm proud to be a non-racist, 'Immigrant hating, non-discriminating American, unlike a lot of other people.

I'm not into jingoism, America-centrism, militarism, empire, or mindless loyalty to governments, and I am fully aware of history, but I strongly support the founding principals that unified all citizens under one flag and made this country of immigrants unique among nations.

Most of all, I love the principals that make America unique - that humans are endowed by the Creator with certain self-evident, unalienable rights. We are sovereign citizens, not loyal subjects. I also love the idea of a government "of the people, by the people and for the people".
Granted, those principals have never been fully lived up to, but they are there in our founding documents to be aspired to. They are worth fighting to preserve.

So yes, I am proud to be an American and will continue working to bring about its full potential.

I don't recognize the America 🇺🇸 we live in now. It doesn't mean much to me when putting my hand over my heart while singing The Star Spangled banner. I used to feel proud inside. I'm not sure what there is to be found proudful - everything, everywhere we have people fighting for something. It's exhausting to keep up anymore. There is just too much going on. Everyday there's something different on the news. Today they found the drug crack I the white house.
Am I really supposed to care about that crap anymore?

I'm proud of the ideals and some aspects of america.

Other parts I'm disgusted and dismayed. America is trash is another angel that needs explored. We are... too much and need to adjust course.

I am a black Americans and I say yes. I have gone through hard moments in my life but that has likely happened to everyone from different races.

Pride in external things that don't actually meaningful reflect my personal achievements and behavior is legitimately weak sauce. It's why nationalism is the low bar for social cohesion. Why should I feel proud just because of what some guy 300 years ago did?

I am proud to be part of the local community I'm in and participate, and do think the US is a good place to live. But I'd never take pride in it.

I am a naturalized first generation immigrant at a much later stage in life. I am thankful to God that my sustenance was written here and then I was able to bring up a healthy successful family but I have no reason to be proud to be an American. My roots and heart are still connected to my country and as for America, it has not done anything that should make you proud. In fact, a lot of what it does or where it stands, it's quite an embarrassment.
