10 Reply2.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. There are places that I am and places that I am not. Overall, I'm proud of the system that was created so all Americans could be free. Looking back at what is was before, I think where we live could have been even worse if people did not stand up and claim the system we have today. I'd like to think that freedom is something not belonging to one race but everyone white or black. Given that our country has been imperfect when it comes to equal rights and treatment for every person. But we have learned as a country and are still learning. I hope as a country we keep moving towards getting better and better as we move forward
10 ReplyI'm proud of the things that I've achieved and I'm grateful where I was born probably gave me the opportunity to study/travel/prosper/eat well/have clean water etc. So whilst I'm glad I was born in England and how it's played the part in who I've become I played literally no part in what made me English. That was all down to my Mum and Dad maybe having a few drinks and doing an act that no child needs to imagine 9 months before I was born. So am I proud to be English, not really... I enjoy it, but how can I be proud of something that I played no part of, and was down to my parents doing the no pants dance (an image I don't need in me head!) lol
10 ReplyI’m from the UK but I’m not a White girl. I’m Asian (South) and I have never felt like this was really my country. I have always felt like a bloody outcast. I hate my fucking life this confusion of identity it’s so pisstaking. I just wish it was simpler. Don’t get me wrong there are the pros of each side like I am multilingual and I have a very rich culture but the feeling of not belonging anywhere, not really fitting into anywhere is always there. I don’t belong to the Indian subcontinent and neither do I truly belong here regardless of what my passport says and regardless of where my ancestors lived. I’m just a lost soul on this earth and that’s a feeling that bothered me since birth so no I’m not REALLY proud of my country because what is my country? I don’t know. I just wish that in the next life I don’t have to deal with such confusion!

+1 yI belong to India and I am proud to be from here.. Most of the times people have so many assumptions about India but I have only thing to say to all of them; There is nothing like India, so many traditions, culture, rituals, religions, people, nationality, cities. I feel that India is heaven, I feel so blessed about living In India.. The food, the people, the festivals everything! I am proud to be an Indian🙏
20 ReplyI used to be, then the idiots and traitors on the left turned Australian into a multiracial Feminist semi-Socialist shit hole.
Large parts of major cities look like the Third World now and Feminists prowl the corporate world and education looking for anyone to whom cancel culture can be applied.21 Reply- +1 y
That's happened in most parts of the western world.
2.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. No, not really. It's not like I achieved anything by being from a particular country.
Relieved would be more how I feel about it. I don't think I'm cut out to be from somewhere like Pakistan or Syria or something.
I also feel a sense of empathy though. Empathy for the aboriginal people who are native to my country of birth. They were rudely dispossessed of their home in a way I would not like to happen to me.
That empathy is also mixed with a sense of resentment because this country was used for punishment for my own ethnicity and that punishment was enforced by a government who were also rudely dispossessed my ancestor's country.00 Reply
+1 yYugoslavia, originally, maybe a little bit. Serbia after that - anything but proud.
Holland and Belgium most recently - there definitely are things to be proud of, yes!
I am proud of Trump for America, though - he stood up for what is American, not Indonesian or Indian or Mexican etc.10 Reply8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. No. I take no pride from something I had no choice in. I was born, it just so happens to be in my country. I like my country dont get me wrong but I refuse to be deluded into thinking I got something to be proud over when I objectively do not.
20 Reply5.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I am. My people fought really hard to become independent, we went through two wars and 400 years of slavery.
Unfortunately we had a corrupt president for 38 years who stole pretty much all the country's money and resources. As a result we have several issues because he didn't care about the people and screwed everything up.
I really hope things get better, so my nephews, nieces and their descendants don't have to face the same hardships that our ancestors faced.00 Reply
+1 yYes. Even though America is like shit rn, there are many countries where I wouldn't have half the rights I have here. I'm proud NOT because of today's leaders, but yesterdays fighters. People gave their lives for this country! America won't get better if people say that America doesn't deserve to be a good place. There are too many good people and future generations that deserve our fight, our protests, our skill. Please don't give up because we're in a bad place.
00 Reply1.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Ehh, I'm not nationalistic at all, but we have some pretty good traits that I was also born with, tallest people in the world, good at boxing/k-1, blonde/blue eyes, etc.
I like the genes of my country, but I don't see why I would be "proud" of other people their accomplishments.
Dutch by the way.10 ReplyI am glad my parents made the move in the 80's to come to Texas. My parents are from El Salvador🇳🇮. If they stayed I'll be lost in the streets being a gang member. I am proudly to be a Texan born and raised. Stablished a business. Is a blessing to be in America🇺🇸. I haven't traveled to other states but some day I will.

+1 yI use to have real pride for the USA. Now I feel kinda sad and not so happy about this place.
Corruption in Congress and Senate
The socialist and communist take over of the USA
The Democrats and Republicans are so far apart now they agree on nothing. in the 1940s they agreed 95% of the time. Now it's less then 10% agreement. Nothing but grid lock
It's who get the money and not We The People.
We The People been sold out for the Almighty dollar.02 Reply- +1 y

+1 yNot so much right now as an American. Our politicians are openly corrupt and allowing mobs to destroy our inner cities and American history. I’m really disappointed with the democrats and the republicans as well. They’re not sticking up for what’s right because they’re at fear of their own careers.

@007kingifrit im no knights Templar on a crusade , i think those guys has the right idea but were overly backed by the catholic church which really is not a religion in my opinion. its more of a cult. while i will not fight for fighting's sake i will defend whats mine if its threatened.

All my Uk friends at uni left to either USA or Australia after graduating. They have a better life there. So no, my country has been spoiled by the previous 2 decades democracy.16 Reply- +1 y
@hknmhmn4 whilst I like European people, there are many of the troublesome ones you cast aside going to the UK and causing trouble here. That fills the gap. But look at the consequence? People voted to leave the EU.
- +1 y
@hknmhmn4 you really aren't though, you'll now have to provide for the millions of troublemakers who are slowly going back to their countries. As they have 'experience' they'll enter your workplaces and cause the trouble you tried to filter out at the beginning. The UK can grow better as a result. How would you like it if a continent sent you all their worst people?
- +1 y
@hknmhmn4 why are Europe grabbing us with both hands to prevent us?
"please we dont want our bad people back, you let them into the UK you keep them"

409 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. No and it is not first world country...
Yes, I would do a lot for my country of birth, but I'm not proud of or want even to mention it, now I moved to other country and I like it much better here and would do a lot for it as I lived here most of my adult years and almos half of my life.00 ReplyBeing an American. Since there’s no culture (as it’s literally a melting pot of all the cultures of the world combined on a daily basis) I don’t really see what there is to be proud of, unlike other countries they have a universal culture everybody can relate too for the most part. It’s not like that in America. I can’t say I am proud to be from America because of that, but I CAN say I love America and love the fact that I was born here.

20 Reply347 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Im proud of America and how far we've come in such a short time. But i hate Trump easily one of the worst President's we've had. Like we are a nation of war and what does he do? Pisses off the military leaders and pisses off the troops. He's pissed of people who have lots someone to the corona. He supports Russia who puts bounties on US troops. He calls in the National guard on protesters. He's released convicted war criminals. America good current president bad.
