Why are the NYC suburbs more liberal than the city itself?

They're not. New York City is solidly Democratic. Every single Congressional district representing an area within the 5 boroughs of New York City elected a Democrat to represent them in Congress. The richer suburbs on Long Island and Westchester is where the more conservative people live.

It’s cause conservative policies tend to favor wealth and NYC is all about money money money. Also why are you so obsessed with liberal vs conservative? Your own life is about 90% the same whichever way the climate is.
