First of all who said everyone is afraid of making mistakes? I think most people realize they're not perfect and there's no shame in making a mistake once as long as you don't keep making it. There's also context and situational issues. It may be nice for an airline pilot to learn from his or her mistakes, but a mistake could kill 200 people including the pilot him/herself so yeah he or she might be afraid of making a mistake given the consequences as opposed to a cost accountant whose mistake would get caught and fixed during a project review.
No one said "everyone" However, I like your thoughts and examples

Sometimes, we are doing it for others, sometimes it costs us.
Every mistake leaves a memory behind.
It sucks to make mistakes. I always feel so guilty when I do. As human beings, we’re not perfect, so mistakes are inevitable.
As long as we learn from them, we can not fear them as much. Sometimes mistakes make for the best lessons learned.
