@SuccessfulHornDog I love that scene because I never would have thought of doing that to somebody and ever since I first saw it, I've been itching for a chance to try it.
@SuccessfulHornDog Well, nobody's tried to steal my truck or break into my house or anything.
I need to move to a worse neighborhood or something. Where I live, there's no black people, which pretty much means there's no street-level crime. Just good neighbors who take care of their own property.
Could be white skin or white house I guess, either way I disagree. Violence is an intentional act of harm. Not acting is therefore a direct contradiction. It might be irresponsible, but not violence. I'm guessing it has to do with the reason people have been spamming instagram with stupid quotes, we have a law system, let it do its work.
I hate what is happening. I hate that it is happening. But with the violence, I am afraid that going to one of the protests would be less helpful than I would want.
Its right. It has nothing to do with skin color though, if you don't care about injustice then by default that makes and puts you on the side of the people who are into violence and committing injustices.
I disagree with the p. s.. if your white and dont want to support the black agenda your called a racist, if your black and dont support the white agenda it's a good thing. Sounds like there are a lot a lot of black racist. If you are white and use the word ni__er your a racist if your black and say it all the time then your my brother. Who then are the real racists?
Holding up a sign -and nothing more with this- is being silent as well. I find the statement itself dumb: violence has no colours, and is not a thing that can (or should be) associated with certain ethnic/genetical/whatever groups.
White silence means: Trump is not acting like a leader... he's under the White House in a biker shitting his pants Hoping no one gets their hands on him... that's the only message
I think it's designed to evoke what it seeks to prevent, in a certain sense. It reminds me of the old saying "if you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem".

So it's not the same for us? When a 6yo dies in a drive-by, and nobody will tell the cops who did it because "snitches get stitches", that's not violence?
Absofuckinglutely! White silence, or inaction more broadly, is a gesture that's inherently favorable to the status quo. The status quo is violent toward blacks, PERIOD. Q. E. D. mothafuckas!
How exactly is the status quo violent towards blacks? Per FBI statistics the black on white number of homicides is over twice the white on black homicide numbers.
@RationalMale Stupid talking point that needs to die honestly
1. Institutional violence is very different from civilian violence. We pay cops with our tax dollars, and we pay them to sequester civilians who kill each other. We don't pay civilians who murder each other. Obviously.
2. The FBI statistics reflect the reality that black on black crime is accounted for and criminals are taken to justice. Not only that, blacks are far more likely to be framed for crimes they didn't commit and later sometimes even exonerated because of it! However, cops get away with their flagrant crimes all too often, even if they're filmed for the whole world to witness!
3. There's the vicious cycle of overpoliced communities and increased violent crime rates from the people who grow up in them, so cops can be very much to blame for much of our civilian violence.
"the world suffers a lot. Not because of the violence of bad people but the silence of good people", not sure if I would agree with the above through, doesn't seem perticularly insightful or accurate.

some people just don't want to get caught up in the fucking drama. they just want to live their lives in peace without dealing with all the unnecessary drama this world brings to them. this goes for people who are black white Hispanic Puerto rican guatamalan Japanese Chinese Korean Cambodian etc etc you get the idea. some people just want a peaceful non dramatic life without dealing with the constant bullshit and headaches that life brings
Oh wait. They wanted to trap everyone in their houses for months with mask on, and now all the sudden they want them out in mass protesting. Where did the propaganda virus suddenly go? It was no longer dividing and conquering.
Even if the sign had that much thought put into it (which I don't think it did) it'd be lost on 99% of the people who read it and therefore still stupid as fuck.

What is the problem with this? People don't have to say anything about any issue. Real racism is to make force people tell something about any issue.

Well more white people are killed by cops each year yet we dont burn our neighborhoods down to the ground.

I disagree, because it's the same as the "if you're not with us you're against us," fallacy. Dealing in absolutes like that is idiocy.
I'm not sure what that even means!!! What is "White Silence?" I don't want to assume anything.

Call me stupid but I don't understand it tbh, can't tell what point they're trying to get across, it is a nice rhyme though

Obviously silence is not even close to violence. They're trying to draw comparison to witnesses to the crimes are accomplices. It's bullshit.

It's a stupid way to justify real violence against non violent people.
