typically most males have a primal urges to mate with as many females as possible. to spread out there DNA more to insure their blood line continues. however if he happen to find one female. who is both willing and able to keep those urges in check. he can bond to her and only her.

but if those urges are left unchecked for to long. they are likely to drive him to find another mate.

It’s probably that in evolutionary biology the whole idea is to maximize the probability of your genes spreading thus impregnating multiple women. But that’s not necessary in the modern era anymore obviously.

Well, evolutionary psychologists have suggested that the reason men are more likely to have extramarital sex, is due to the male urge to "spread genes" aka "broadcasting their sperm". Partnerships evolved later down the years for the sake of children. A committed partnership can be lived out, but that isn't the case as there's so many sorts of relationships now. If it were up to me, I wish to be a penguin in the next life 🐧

If you didn't know, most penguin species are monogamous. Female Emperor penguins are badass and don't follow gender normative roles as they're the ones that battle and brace the journey to find food for weeks on end while the male sits on the egg. 🐧
