Biology does that on its own.

A man contributes the chromosome that determines the sex, but he doesn’t get to ‘pick’ what it becomes.

It’s not a choice, it’s nature doing its thing.

Men’s contribution to the DNA is what determines the sex of the child, but it’s not as though we have any control over it. There is a rare form of, i think, chimerism recently discovered. A woman was discovered to have male DNA in her blood. I don’t remember every detail, but the prevailing theory is that she somehow shared her twin brother’s blood. As that research develops, we might learn that some women can contribute to the sex of their offspring, or otherwise contribute to genetic and congenital anomalies previously thought to have only come from men.

That would be correct. The sperm contains either the X or Y chromosome. We (women) only have the X chromosome in our eggs. Therefore, whatever we receive from the man (either the X or Y chromosome) determines the sex of the child. An XX combination is a female child and an XY combination is a male child.

To my understanding, each sperm has a gender. So if a male sperm is the one that mixes with the egg, the baby will be a boy. If a female sperm is the one that mixes with the egg, the baby will be a girl.
