and it makes perfect sense why humanity has more female ancestors than male ancestors despite boys are more likely to be born than girls

think about it though. most women want men who are over 6 feet tall. men who are over 6 feet tall are less than 15% of the male population. this cuts out 85% of men

women also want men who earn a 6 figure annual salary and only 21% of men are capable of that which cuts out 79% of men

historically it was only kings, emperors and warlords who had the most sex. soldiers, merchants and peasants might have got some sex. slaves and prisoners got nothing

today, starting in high school, it's the jocks, bullies and popular guys who get the most action. nerds, geeks, dweebs, dorks and normies got nothing

after that, sex and procreating is only reserved for hot guys, rich guys, famous guys whereas the average guy needs to jump through hoops to achieve the same. below average guys need not apply and just commit suicide

So your statistics is out of touch with reality or in fact it is irrelevant for the question.

I think it may be true that women desire the top 20% of men, and millions of women had a crush on Leonardo di Caprio, for example (who as of today has not fathered a child). Still, they live their lives and have kids with millions of other men.

@EricSummer no they are not because your statistics miss out on many key factors

for starters, you've limited yourself to only the US population. American men on average are much more wealthier than foreign men who come from shitholes in 3rd world countries where polygamy exists and a man can have up to 10 wives thus leaving a lot of men single. American men have no issue attracting 3rd world women with their money and status. there's a reason why most refugees who enter countries illegally from the 3rd world tend to be fighting age men

secondly those older fathers are men who are alive today. it doesn't include men who have died via committing suicide or via their workplace or via other means

also 32% of all paternity tests come out as negative but that's only those that have been taken which means the number could be a lot higher if used throughout the entire population

in some communities, a lot of kids have no idea who their real father is. fact of the matter is, a man can impregnate multiple women at the same time

history already tells us humanity has far more female ancestors than male ancestors. birth control didn't exist back then so a man who had sex with a woman was extremely likely to impregnate her and if he didn't have sex for whatever reason, he didn't procreate

Ok. These are some relevant points. The U. S. is a great place to be for a man, as you can have women who immigrated from lower income countries in addition to the locals. I'm in Switzerland and it is similar here, especially with the Ukrainian women who flocked to our country recently.

For lower income countries I know Iran a bit, and I can say over there a successful man will always procreate if he chooses (and most do). With Western dating it can sometimes happen that a successful but shy guy will not get a partner.

I'm aware that the older men of which 85% have a kid are the survivers. However, some of the others also procreated before dying. I realize the overall percentage is then lower, maybe 80% rather than 85%.

In terms of cuckoo kids I understand the rate is about 10%. The 32% must be for cases in which a doubt already exists, i. e. a reason for a test.

So for the U. S. or Switzerland, even with these adjustments, I will not go below 70%. For the globe I cannot say, but Iran is rather higher, the full 80% I'd say.

Its probably somewhere around 50 percent. But that's only b/c women are doing the selecting. In the future with designer babies I actually think anyone will be able to procreate if they want too. The government will have to regulate a parent in different ways.

that statistic only counts men who are alive in the USA today, not worldwide or historically and assumes the kids are biologically related to the father

Well yeah, I don't know why the US census would include dead men and men not in the us, and there's no way to account for every dirt country on the planet. Sure, I'll throw in the 4% of men who are unknowingly raising someone else's child to get 57%. It still rounds up to 60%

Many of those will still become fathers later, especially the ones who are still below 25 now. Over the lifetime it should be 72% or close to that - already counting that some die young.
