Come on! Protestors are scrawling graffiti all over things, tearing things apart, setting things on fire and bring items to these protests that do not show peaceful protesting. Are these idiots going to pay for all this damage? No, it is going to come out of the taxpayer's pockets. Half these jackinapes don't even live there, they come in from other cities so they can destroy things. I'm with the police on this one. There's no good way to keep the anarchists out of the crowd. As I commented in another post, all it takes is one malotov cocktail to turn a peaceful protest to anarchy. It only takes ONE person to plaster graffiti on buildings or statues. What you FAIL to understand is that the VAST majority of protesters are indeed peaceful, and simply want to exercise their Constitutional Right to peaceful assembly and protest.
The same statement as I made about about "it only takes one" is ALSO true about law enforcement. It only takes ONE officer to beat on or arrest a protester who was doing NOTHING, to start a riot.
Therein lie the problems. Lumping "all protesters" into the same category as the dude making pipe bombs is JUST AS WRONG as lumping "all police officers" into the bad seed category. And the former, is what you're doing.
Well you know it takes more than a gaggle of geese to create rioting. One or to will get arrested pretty fast. But when you got everyone tearing things up, like in the Portland videos I have seen, it's an entirely different story then just peaceful protests. Is some lame protestors, who maybe are there to protest peacefully, stay there instead of leaving like the police order them to, then they are just part of the problem and by refusing to break it up they are no longer peacefully protesting in my book.

Those "lame protesters" don't leave because they believe they've done nothing wrong. They have a right to peacefully protest and NOT be broken up when they do. Once the destruction starts however, it's no longer a protest.
I'm sure the moms on their bikes, and the veterans, and the dads, don't come there to destroy stores and/or government property. They want to make a point, and they want it to be heard. Standing up for your Constitutional rights is far from lame. People have died for it.

I'm not sure if you're actually looking for an answer or just wanting to rant, but I have a few thoughts regardless. First of all, graffiti is not violence so while it's still a crime that's not the same thing. Second, no one that I've heard is saying that those causing property damage shouldn't be arrested and charged, that's not the issue. Third, the overwhelming majority of protests are peaceful, it's just those aren't the ones that make the news. Fourth, even if all you claimed was true, that doesn't take away from the issues being protested. Sure you could argue it's causing more damage than good, but there are still cops getting barely a slap on the wrist for killing someone. These protests are actually a good case study for how different media covered it in terms of how much focus was on violence and property damage, how much time was given to police spokesmen, how much time was given actual protesters and their leaders, and how much footage of different cities was used.
@Malcom_Reynolds Property damage is still an issue though not technically violence. Still, it cost money to remove, as well as repair damage to everything else they are destroying. That is NOT peaceful protesting. But barricading the police in their station and trying to set it on fire with them in it is attempted murder. So they are no better than the cops they are protesting about. Violence begets violence and neither will wind up the winner, only losers in the end. If your over 18 kid was running around your house spray painting your walls, setting the cat on fire, and breaking everything in sight are you going to sit and do nothing? You would probably grab him and kick his ass out of the house. So why should police sit by and watch all this and not try and do something to protect themselves and public property?
It's a front. Frame your violent attacks against the system you don't like as a "peaceful protest" and you can get away with a lot. The game changer is that media is complicit and wants to be because at the very least it generates income for them -- if they aren't genuinely interested in ideology. Social media has been positive and negative for them, because ass much as they try to stop filming (pretty weird if you're "peaceful") enough "unapproved" footage still makes it out there and shows what's happening, not to mention that with this level of connectivity and that size of a crowd it's hard to get away with shit like bringing an acetylene torch to cut through barricades.
But hey, they have to drop the "peaceful" image eventually, they need critical mass support. If they have enough support, people will look the other way when violence happens, and they'll frame it how they want, more people will support them, and then they'll escalate their violence. Rinse and repeat.
The irony is mind-blowing. The "alt-right" was always begging for an opportunity to over throw and dismantle a fascist regime that's run by a Tyrant, but it's the "libtards" and their mothers who are the ones that stand up against it, while the "alt-right gun loving, second amendment rights advocating, free speech protecting morons" are hiding in their shells and defending against the very rights they claimed to hold most dear to them. They say it's because the military police are fighting against the left that they remain hidden and they want to watch the left suffer, but you either believe in your rights or not. Rights are only rights if they are independent and universal, "that which is morally correct, just, or honorable." I am shocked, appalled, and disgusted by the American government, AND the American people. And so is most of the world.
People have a right to protest, but peacefully. These fucktards from the outside come in to incite the people and turn it into quite a different thing than a peaceful demonstration. The outside fucktards are the ones causing the damages, not the people who live and have to work there. So who are the losers here? Your city/county governments and the taxpayers while the fucktards go their merry way to the next peaceful demonstration.
I haven't said anything about my position on that, just on the situation as a whole. My question to you is at what point do you use your 2nd amendment right? And does it not matter that the government is arresting innocent people by unmarked military police, also that the police are breaking up peaceful protests? Again, I am not saying what is right and wrong I am only asking a question because I am curious, I don't have an opinion on this.
If the people are being picked up it is because they are in the zone that was ordered cleared by the police and they refused to go. What does a child do when he won't obey your orders? You take him to the corner. So picking these people up amounts to that. You don't obey then no roll in the hay for you.
Just watch the countless videos of peaceful protesters getting tear gassed and beaten with batons and shot with rubber bullets. also they asked peaceful protesters to disperse... that is a violation of your first amendment rights.
Or are you not going to watch any of the videos or peaceful protestors getting attacked and ignore it and come out with some bullshit answer again?

Someone on Facebook posted a live video earlier from a protest in California. He kept panning the crowd they have to be 80% white people there. How are we fighting for black lives when it's all whites arguing? Not only that, if you march and hold signs your a protester. If you smash windows or burn or destroy property your a rioter.
Because they are blaming the violence's uptick on the Fed's that Trump sent in to protect the Federal Buildings. I hope this election will show the weak Democrat state leaders where the bear craps in the woods.

Police prevent crimes, keep the peace. They have to do all the can to remove that protection so it’s easier for them to remake America into what they want. It’s not cost effective for them to be stopped
