I used to know cops that used to play these little assholes like they were snare drums. I knew a cop that used to wait until they would blink and while , their eyes were closed he would give him a good whack across the bridge of their nose. They would get two black eyes.
I knew another cop they called Rick the Stick and it was not because he was so skinny.

@Chazmatazz269 Also peaceful protests can and have in the past escalated into riots and the officers need to be prepared. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. The only time you have a problem is if the police are the aggressors or they are violating the rights of the protesters in some way.

In most cases these people bitching about police brutality aren't getting arrested for what they were saying. They were arrested because they were assaulting people or vandalizing things. I'm not saying there's never been police overreach with this but OPs post is a gross oversimplification of a complex issue.

I see police use them. Luckily not many riots here. Mostly in foreign land
