Don’t know anything about it. The next thing I’ll celebrate is complete and universal automation of all vehicles. People can’t be trusted to operate these things, lmao. Don’t know why nobody is alarmed that this thing we’ve only had for like a hundred years or so is suddenly one of our leading causes of unnatural death. But like most things in modern human life, examining anything that causes emotional discomfort, or if the true solutions would result in increased physical discomfort, well, those discussions are usually summarily dismissed.
It looks like old Elan is going to get some competition. Not a bad thing, but the images I'm seeing don't really do it for me. We'll see what they look like when they get released. Though I do like the idea of going into the Apple store in the mall to buy a car. The absurdity of that tickles my funny bone.

Yes, I really want to buy a defective, overpriced, underpowered car that:
1. Cannot be repaired by anyone except Apple at the "Apple Garage"
2. Occasionally has the steering wheel fall off, but Apple denies this happens until several hundred people are killed.
3. To fix the steering wheel problem, Apple charges $ 3500 and has to keep your car for a month while a "genius" works on it. A loaner car is available for $ 400 per day, but its steering wheel keeps falling off.
Not as seek as the Bose Speaker car. Today's cars just can't match some of the older cars for style.
It will be insanely overpriced and overhyped, like all Apple products. There are alternatives available for every Apple item that function just as well at a fraction of the cost and the same will be true of any vehicle they market. They will sell regardless of the financial ripoff as there is a substantial number of status-conscious dweebs out there who willing piss away their money on anything with an Apple logo.

I think the "hype" is a result of fundamentally how apple advertises, where a lot of companies advertise all year long with tons pf different models, apple has a limited set, often there are np special editions and it's only one time of the year so I think it's valid. As for overpriced, I don't think macs are overpriced (you can compare the prices if you so wish) and the new mac air is especially not. But as the arctic monkeys say if you so wish "don't believe the hype"

I'm sure it'll be super but I have questions:
Does it get slower when a new model comes out?
Can only apple fix and maintain it.
Does getting wet void the warranty?
Does it have only one pedal?
Do you require a new, differently shaped key every six months?
How much does it cost?
If they are built/engineered to the same standard as the macbooks and their other products using none standard components, then the damn things will be falling apart as they leave the showroom dying at the smallest speck of rain, and the safety cage bending when somebody leans against it.

Speaking as an electrical engineer for the automotive industry who’s been fixing Apple products for years, it’s safe to say that building a car is a completely different animal than their standard merchandise. There’s so much more into cars than a cell phone, laptop, etc it’s not even funny. There’s soo many different regulations to follow for different countries too because the laws for vehicles are heavily regulated. There’s much less room for error in making a vehicle too; recalls are a VERY serious problem.
I could go in and on but I find it humorous how Apple decides to try to make a vehicle 😆 maybe after a couple generations they’ll get it right 🤣

Ironically Apple provides longer support in software updates than most of their competitors
Yet they update the firmware to make the battery run out faster for you buy a new phone.
Actually it's the opposite, they update the firmware so the cpu runs slowers so battery life cycles can be conserved and it's a setting so you can reverse it if you want.
That is not true they make it run out faster they been sued for this many times
There will be customers with either too much money or poor money management abilities (or both) who will buy one. A good time to be a business analyst at Apple Inc if this happens.

Changed a battery? Yes. The later questions? No. But you can install them, companies don't need to facilitate when options are available, I don't really get what you're trying to say or slash what the point is
It's orders of magnitude more difficult to do anything (like change a battery) on an apple product like an iPhone.

I'm not sure you understand how companies work, companies are not people and apple in particular has highly distributed ownership. For an agenda to exist you need a reason or at least a person who can successfully apply his own agenda. I don't know why so many people think companies care about people and political parties.
