Is it possible two inherit morons can produce smart kids even if they are in a good learning environment and two smart people produce stupid kids?

Read "The Bell Curve" it's all about IQ, inheritance of it, impact on society, so on and so forth. Anyway, if I remember right on the curve people with average IQ (~105 +-5) have a lower chance of having kids with high IQ and most of them will have children with a normal IQ with slightly greater chances (compared to having geniuses) of having below average IQ children.
Above average IQ (115+) parents will not have their kids fall at 115 in the middle of that curve, more like 108 or so with better chances to have genius children (comparatively), less chance to have below average (again comparatively), like the curve is just shifted and flattened some numbers wise.
So geniuses can produce idiots and idiots can produce geniuses, it's just more improbable for both, though far from impossible as it can and does happen. What happens more though is said genius is born and does not have the opportunities to use the most out of the horsepower they were born with.
Where the idiot born to geniuses is going to live in an environment where things their parents say are easy are in fact not easy, like at all. Though they may have access to greater opportunities, they lack the ability to make the most of them.
Anywho, high IQ or not, idiot or genius, you have to actually do something with what you've got. The environment you mention at the top, if two people are in a loving caring environment compared to two meth-heads and both have children with no change in environment, the IQ of their children at 2-5 years old is going to be kinda irrelevant in deciding their chances in life.
Executive summary -
(Almost) anything is possible.
Details-
Genetics is more about the odds of it actually happening. Overly simplified since there isn't a single "smart (S) /unsmart (s)" gene, if two parents each have a smart gene and an unsmart gene, the probability is 25% that they will have an "unsmart" (ss) kid, 25% that they will have a "smart" (SS) kid, and 50% that they will have an average smart (Ss or sS) kid.
Plus, we're getting into the "My Fair Lady" / "Trading Places" genre of "good genetics" and past success vs "poorer genetics" and past lack of success, and whether or not a change of environment and circumstance in the short term, can overtly change an individual who has been raised a certain way in the long term
25%? How so?
If each parent has an "S" (smart) gene and an "s" (unsmart ) gene, then the matrix possibilities are ss, Ss, sS, and SS. 25% smart, 25% unsmart, 50% meh. This is just an analogue to the old fruit fly "eye color DNA experiment from freshman year of High School.
Yes, I believe that genetics and evolution play a huge role in intelligence. I think two dumb parents can produce a reasonably evolved child if they were taken out of the environment.
I don't know if you ever read, "Mansfield's Park" by Jane Austen. In the book, Fannie was the oldest of a very poor family, and her Aunt was a managed a household for a very rich family, and her parents sent to live with this rich family where she served assisted her aunt and in return they gave her a: home, clothes, food and an education.
When Fannie becomes of age, the father of the family wanted her to marry this "noble" man, and Fannie refused because she felt he was of bad character despite being so charismatic.
Fannie couldn't believe she was more educated than her parents, and her siblings couldn't even read.
So, I think we all have the potential to be better than were we came from.
My dad had a bad early education, however he's a successful artist, even though his primary knowledge sucks. He has excellent social skills even though he's let down academically.
My mom grew up in a foreign country but learnt English, became an engineer and worked for nasa. She's horrible in social situations but excels academically.
I'm absolutely ordinary, and my sibiling is like a superhuman genius. The thing is they all put in effort to be smart. I didn't. If two morons raised a child in a good educational setting they would still have a good likelihood of becoming smart.

There's a programme here called the chaser. The black man on that said he failed his a level or o levels 3 or 4 times. That's not a good thing.
Anyways he's on a game show 40 odd years later basically branded a genius.
He though says it requires work and dedication. Which he continues to study everyday. You are only limited by yourself
Remembeing stats or proper answers to a question i. e. the biggest or smallest rivers in the world doesn't make someone smart.
I'm referring to intellectual capacity as thinking outside the box, being very creative with ideas, solving complex problems etc.
And you are incredibly rude. He has actually been to school and passed every exam he has ever taken as he puts in the work. He in my and others books isn't a stupid man why because he has life experience. He made a minor challenge not hold him back. I don't know his methods to success but if he were to ever write a book about it, I'd certainly read it. His resilience speaks wonders
Now this is rather ironic considering yesterday's Biblical citations you gave. Like being fixated on legacy, being fixated on genetics is far from Biblical. Take care to not be a hypocrite.
"We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth." 1 Corinthians 8:1
"Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty." Zechariah 4
You were talking about social status and riches and a golden casket. This question is in regards to intelectual capacity to direct offsprings.
And does the Bible encourage eugenics?
Doesn't say nothing about it or that it's wrong. I just personally believe in trying to produce the best looking kids and smart as possible offsprings.
You don't worry then that being fixated on this will make love grow cold in regards to your fellow man who might be average, below average intelligence or even mentally handicapped?
No, I don't. My children will definitely be taught to be understanding and compassionate of others.
I know life isn't white or black and circumstances and unfair things happen in life to people and the less fortunate.
I still don't see how it's justifiable Biblically though. It doesn't say directly and straight up eugenics is wrong no, but neither does it say so about masturbation and we still know it to be wrong when reading between the lines, and when doing it we feel that we grieve the Holy Spirit. Some things need not be said straight up for us to surmise that it's wrong, God does say in His word to not be unwise but rightly share the word of truth.
And all the Bible's teachings points towards eugenics being of the world, not of God. A focus on the flesh, outward appearance, and might and power rather than spirit. He loves all his children no matter their intelligence. What will intelligence matter anyway in the New Earth, when all there is to know is insignificant given the presence of almighty Yahweh himself? He whom knows infinitely more than we ever will.
Not everyone is God's child according to the Bible. As far as masturbation if you feel guilty about then don't do it as it will be sin unto you because you will be violating your conscience, but I won't go around telling others its sin, when the Bible is clearly silent on the matter. I stick with what the Bible directly teaches not what man or tradition says.
No, not everyone are God's children but He does not look down on unbelievers for their lack of good looks or intelligence. He rejects them for their lack of faith, and nothing else.
Look to the story of Gideon, least in stature and least of all the tribes, yet God used him mightily so that *His name* might be glorified.
That was literal miracle. God did the miracle and Gideon was a child of God.
Exactly, and He also demonstrated that the focus shouldn't be on man and their glories, but on God and His glory.
I think I've seen genes do some pretty interesting things... So I can't say that just because two parents are smart or dumb that a child will come out like either of them... Genes can be funny sometimes
Genetics doesn’t have as much affect as nurture. If kids are raised reading and learning, genetics won’t matter too much.
Apply that same logic if kids from a young age practiced running and jumping then when they fully grow up they would be able to run very fast or jump high when both of his or her parents are totally pathetic having athletic ability.
Man, you are sadly not the sharpest tool in the shed.
Damn it man, didn't you learn nothing at all in high school science class? How the hell can a kid run fast or jump high when he didn't inherit a damn good athletic gene from neither parent? Use your brain.
Dang, you can't possibly be this incredibly stupid. Do you really think anyone can just become a olympic sprinter or have the raw athletic ability of LeBron James because they work at it? 🤦♂️
People are just born with certain gifts and physical ability that others don't inherit through genetics.
Yeah, if you read it also says physical environment. But readings hard...
And here’s another article that basically says “we don’t know”,
www.scientificamerican.com/.../
So you believe in eugenics as well then?
Yes, definitely.
