I can agree that “be less white” is very poor wording. But the details bulletpointed after that header I think is pretty fair, those are all real and serious issues that a lot of white people seem to be very unaware that their contributing to. I don’t think it’s asking too much of white folks to maybe take a hard look in the mirror at ourselves and listening to what people of color and other minorities are trying to tell us. These people aren’t trying to control us, they’re asking us to finally make an earnest effort to understand their hardships and to maybe do our part to make things better. Telling them their perceptions of their own experiences aren’t valid, are made up, or exaggerated, that’s just fucked up to do to any human that’s trying to approach you honestly with an issue. Some people are going to be angry due to their life experiences, they might be the bad examples who take things too far, but you can’t let that dilute the overall message. My girlfriend is Latina, we’ve had very personal and honest conversations about race, our experiences, and I’ve learned a lot from talking with her. Most of it is stuff that would have never occurred to me in a million years as a white dude. And you feel terrible when it dawns on you. I don’t mean that like “white guilt”, I just mean as humans, how can we be so blind and uncaring to others where we’re missing something that’s sometimes blatantly obvious, and the subtleties get dismissed by the white majority as them being too sensitive or some other shitty response. For the first time we’re seeing white people being told “tough break” when it comes to their feelings about their role in race relations, and it doesn’t feel great, does it? There are things I feel immediately “shut down” about too, but crying about that after everyone else has dealt with that and worse as their standard for pretty much all of history, it’s pretty fucking silly to get worked up about. Straight white dudes aren’t getting put into concentration camps, we’ll be fine. But it’s just wild to see the instantaneous reaction from white people the second things start to go even a little bit not their way, even the mere suggestion that there could be a problem, after everything every other demographic has had to deal with pretty much forever.

Take a breath, man, you’re all fired up. Firstly, I’m speaking specifically to the racial dynamics in the USA. Racism is a problem around the world, even in places with few to no white people, and I don’t believe anyone is above being prejudiced. I’m not trying to make this all about “white people are evil, everyone else is good.” Whatever happened in South Africa, I’m sure it was horrible, but it’s not relevant to American society.
It’s not as simple as “welp, we freed the slaves, guess it’s all even now.” The slaves got freed, and then it took A HUNDRED FUCKING YEARS to even give them equal rights, arguably just on paper. In that same hundred years, we went from horse-drawn carriages and an infantile railroad system to cars and planes and fucking spaceships. Candles to electric lights. Telephones. Televisions. The list goes on and on. And it took that same hundred years, probably four or five generations of people, to go from probably the most egregiously dehumanizing practice in history to simply allowing black folks to use the same bathrooms and attend the same schools as white people. So whether that was right or wrong in the relative sense where you could maybe try to spin that as exponential progress from Point A to Point B, you can’t lose sight of the the fact that Point A should never have happened, and Point B shouldn’t have even been a question.
@eric8301 And it’s just evidence that this clearly isn’t an overnight process, which needs to be accounted for, but we can’t forget that this absolutely SHOULD be able to be an overnight process. It should be so fucking simple to say “I’m a person, that’s a person, we look different, but we deserve the same treatment and to have the same unconscious assumptions made about us.” And that’s what’s not happening. And white people can find themselves on the wrong end of it, I’m not even saying it’s wrong, I’m just saying that, at least in America, it’s different. It’s just not the same because there’s no power dynamic held over us.
So it’s fine to be individually offended if a black person were to act prejudiced towards you. That’s normal. But when you walk away from that interaction, it just doesn’t make you feel quite the same way. I will always walk away subconsciously knowing that I’m a white dude in America, so it’s all good and there’s a majority white society that will welcome me with open arms. You don’t have that safety net as a minority. We’re really being asked to be more considerate of their individual emotions and psychological responses. I know “logic over feelings” is the standard tough guy response, but that’s just not the way humans operate, we respond emotionally to things, even those of us putting up a front that we aren’t.

But how do you think she feels overhearing her white neighbors talking about how they aren’t doing trick or treating because Puerto Rican men were showing up to the door. Agree. not all of some color are anything. Take the labels off... its just asking people to live to a given standard.
I was gonna speak on how wrong the training is because it's obvious all white people are not oppressive and it is sad to take things that a small portion of white people do and group all white people in is wrong and disgusting, but u turned around like a racist idiot and did the exact same thing that u found racist.

The "be less black" are great values promotion... if we remove the "black" and replace it with..."American"..." or be a better human. there... that's better!
But it’s not racist. These are problematic traits that a lot of white people tend to have and creating a toxic work environment. That’s why Coca Cola had the seminar for their employees, to address this problem.
How can that not be racist when it defines race in it? Do you truly believe only white people have these issues, and too many of them? I don't, but maybe I'm missing something. I definitely don’t think that only white people are problematic, because that simply isn’t true. However, with all of the racial tension this past year, it’s mostly coming from whites, the only thing difference now is that people are calling it out.
Your list of "Do's" is impressive and worth supporting but if Pepsi tried to promote those goals every SJW, BLM thug, Democrat politician, loons of the MSM, talking heads, and late night host would be screaming "RACISM, RACIST". Nothing drives leftists crazy like the Truth loudly spoken.

Coke didn't develop it, they just blindly adopted it, probably figuring that if it comes from a reputable source, it's NOT horribly racist. Still stupid, but in a lazy way rather than a bigoted one. Pepsi could probably do worse than to push a "celebrate our common humanity" campaign, but I doubt they'll have time to mobilize before this gets memory-holed.

in your view, would most black people only listen to black people at this point? I found myself listening to my teachers no matter the color... whoever spoke the most wisdom. I listen to those who I like how they communicate and what they say. example being, Thomas Sowell. He makes sense. But not everyones perspective is the same, I get that.
I don't listen to someone base off of color, reason why is because not all black people make sense so i try to figure out what someone says even if there from another race however some black people aren;t like that

Id like you to ask this question on gag so people can answer. My answer is... its blatently wrong... false and racist. I accept some of the content to be a better person. But the title is all wrong and narrow minded.
don't buy that, maybe by %'s and how they feel. those whove followed the social rules and got educated are ok, those who haven't, didn't have support... haven't. they are eating out of trash cans. I've seen very poor white people who fell in misfortune. I accept awareness of how people feel though at minimum.
