I think we have slowly seen the degradation of our culture.
We live in this strange time where people seem to believe that minorities never existed in the limelight before 2020.
That previous eras of entertainment (prior to 2020) were just full of terrible racists and bigots...
and black people just didn't exist anywhere.. or hold any influence.. or have a voice.. or have people that could be representations of their image... etc

It is really strange to me to see all of this.
Honestly, I could care less if a character in a movie, tv series, comic, game, or ad is black.
I come from a day and age where there were plenty of well known (and respected) black characters..
all black tv shows... Fresh Prince? Cosby?
black actors that most everyone loved.. Denzel? Morgan Freeman?
black musicians that most everyone loved... Michael Jackson? Prince?
the list goes on?

It wasn't that black representation lacked, but that people generally didn't care about race as much
IF IT WAS GOOD ENTERTAINMENT... IT WAS GOOD ENTERTAINMENT...
IF IT SUCKED.. IT SUCKED..
BUT NOW?
Race is the only thing that matters.
REPRESENTATION matters to the point that its just tokenism.

You no longer judge a show on the basis of its quality
its on its quantity of minority characters (for better or worse)
Wanna win some awards? Better have 30% of your cast/production being black? EVEN if its entertainment about very specifically White things (1917? Basically every film about European History). Mostly White casts are RACIST... Mostly Black are progressive (Black Panther)
Wanna have an inclusive Disney, rework the characters that were white as nonwhite (Little Mermaid?) Instead of bringing in actual black characters like we use to do
Make sure that black cartoon characters are voiced by black people (Family Guy)
But its totally okay for a Queen of England to be cast as Black... (Anne Boelyn)
cause being sincere about anything no longer matters
its not equality, its just hating.. an hating... and hating

The point is
We are losing ourselves in this madness...

No one use to care about this stuff

When we watched Will Smith in the Wild West, we ignored the fact his character was originally White... It was a good show.
When we watched the Fresh Prince of Bel Air.. we had a whole generation of kids who could mouth that theme song from memory... didn't even think about it being a mostly black show
WHO CARED that Oprah was the Queen of TV.. and happened to be Black... people loved to watch it...

We could joke about race... and not take it seriously
We could make fools of ourselves and enjoy our time...

NOW?
even being in the room with a person of another race.. you better watch it
because if you look at someone wrong.. you are probably part of some white supremacy conspiracy.

We have lost ourselves
because people in power.. wanted more power...
they wanted to create a problem
create fear... create chaos.. create division..
and they succeeded.
NOW its corporate hate... corporate fear...

Omg who cares, it really doesn’t impact you or anyone, it’s about diversity and appealing to the mass, not the racists. Also, in my opinion, there are more mixed race people in ads especially in family ads where they use interracial couples. There is colourism in ads and companies should really just broaden out past lighter skinned poc to get more darker skinned black people and Asians. However there are many racists so maybe that’s why for example, there were hundreds of complaints because of a Christmas ad showing a black family
people just need to grow up

There are a lot of social justice issues in our country going on so companies are being pushed to use them. It a way in hopes not to be attacked by the left why they do it. Thats why you even get athletes actors etc. all making political statements so they can save their careers

Historically advertisers target the most vulnerable and most easily manipulated. For example they will target children with high energy commercials to excite them about a product and then hit them with messaging like ask your mom so that the kid will nag the mom endlessly until the product is purchased. Advertising in general always targets women because they can be manipulated by emotional cues and by impulse. In the past exploiting the weak has be successful at getting them what they want, money… I’d assume advertisers are still exploiting the weak. It’s what they do. They might just want something else right now…

Ok, so the “woke” advertising is done for this reason. It’s a payoff to the leftists. When corporations show black gay interracial lesbian transgender cripples on their commercials, the average leftist goes “Wow, thank you giant corporation for caring about marginalized groups!” When just 10 years ago the leftists were protesting the giant corporations for destroying the environment, slave labor, the 1% hoarding all the wealth, etc.

I talk to a girl from the Middle East through Skype. She was really surprised that we had Asians over here. She thought that USA was majority white and black equally in population. I had to explain to her that TV, Hollywood, etc only hire black or white actors and that we actually have all kinds of people here.
