Why do people keep saying "Democrats destroy everything they touch"?

I never understood this... Could someone explain to me how democrats destroy everything they touch? Is it the political ideals? Is it their open minds to accept progressive ideas and people? Is it because they are more soft hearted on people and crime?

It's less about the Democrats themselves and more about the economic inefficiencies of their policy approach; their solutions create a continuing problem time and time again. If you talk solely in terms of trying to resolve any kind of social issue with bureaucracy; the reality is that you are going to fund an institution and employ people who will be out of a job if they succeed in solving the problem they are employed to solve. Let me illustrate this with an example, because these kinds of issues don't always make apparent sense right away.

Let's take two separate issue like the poor mental health of K-12 students and the police brutality against minorities, specifically African Americans. Now, the Democratic solution in both of these cases is to employ more social workers. The Biden Admin website states that they want to double the number of in school psychologists, and employ social workers to respond to criminal incidents because some minorities are worried that police will shoot them on site.

Here's the problem with doing those things: student mental health isn't going to change if you have more psychologists, what you need is to change the curriculum and school social cultures and the same goes for the inner cities; these people act out because they feel like they have no reason to work to get ahead. How do you get police to stop shooting black people? Get black people to stop getting into physical altercations with police. How do you stop that? You disincentivize the crime black people get arrested for by making it more profitable to follow the law than risk breaking it. How do you do that? You improve education and restore economic prosperity to the inner cities by investing in businesses. Why aren't businesses starting in inner cities? High crime and high tax rates because the Democratically run local governments set high taxes to pay for all the social workers they employ to resolve the problem of black people getting shot by cops and school children feeling like they don't have opportunities available to them. Because the situation sucks so bad, the citizens in these inner cities vote democrat because they mistakenly believe that the reason their towns suck is because not enough money is being spent on addressing the issues plaguing the community.

And the worst part is that the municipal budget allowances are based upon need, so if the social workers solve the problems they are employed to solve, the need for their service goes down, and so too does the annual budgetary allowance which means those social workers are out of a job.

That's why people say Dems destroy what they touch. What possible benefit does the tax payer gain from investing in bureaucracy before giving money directly to the people suffering?

People on the right say Democrats will destroy everything. People on the left say Republicans will destroy everything. The truth is, very little changes in America between Democrat and Republican administrations. Both parties love deficit spending, foreign wars, and erosion of rights.

I don't think that extremely but I think there's more of a tendency for good intentions to produce bad results on the democratic side. I think conservatives like Walter E. Williams make way too much sense about how the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Those that are on the democratic side are usually very emotionally invested in emotionally charged issues like racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, poverty, etc. And so I think there's a greater tendency for emotions to override objectivity and practicality. Republicans can have that side too with religious zeal and war-mongering but I think, overall, and especially these days, Democrats have become more of the emotionally-charged party that is more prone to lean towards righteous causes that produce bad results.

They tend to prefer a lot more government involvement than the other. More government involvement means more rules. More rules tends to lead to more rules that make no sense and easy to break which in turn leads to more imprisonment.

Authoritarianism ironically leads to more crime.
