Maybe it's the same thing as my daughter with straight hair wants curls and my daughter with curls wants straight hair.
We want what we can't have or we're just never satisfied with what we have.
I guess it's basic human nature to think that the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence...

We aren't bad, our ancestors did some fucked up stuff but that's not our fault in modern day. Like I didn't tell my great great whatever Grandpa to buy slaves, that was a thousand years ago and isn't even relevant anymore.
