Anonymous(25-29)+1 yKilling a "baby" is in essence, wrong, if you go from the perspective of everything deserves a chance at life. However, something does not have the right to live at the expense of another. A fetus does not have the right to live in a woman's body without her consent- it's nothing more than a parasite at that point.
What people often confuses people about abortion is that abortion is not about the killing of a fetus- abortions are the terminations of pregnancies. Normally, because religious people and politicians complain, this can only occur during the early weeks, when an embryo is not developed enough to survive on it's own. If you really want that embryo to continue, then you can donate your body and time and money, or you can find some solution that does not violate anyone's bodily rights. Late term abortions usually result in the fetus living- those are called C-sections.
Of course, most pro-life folk don't give a shit about the infant after it's born, or the woman who's life has been in essence ruined. They only care so long as they get to force their views on another person. As the saying goes: pro-life isn't pro-baby, it's anti-woman.08 Reply
Asker+1 yBut you agree it’s wrong?
Opinion Owner+1 yIt is not a black and white topic
I think there are good reasons to terminate a fetus, and bad reasons
Asker+1 ySo you contradicted yourself. You are now saying there could be good reasons to kill a pre born baby but in your first sentence up there, you said it was wrong to kill
Opinion Owner+1 yBut I have not contradicted myself: I said that, if you take the perspective of "everything deserves a chance at life", then you could use that to support the position that killing preborns is wrong, or immoral. I never said that I was taking that stance.
Asker+1 yWould you support the idea of removing the pre born baby from the womb and having it develop in an artificial one? The woman signs her rights away.
Opinion Owner+1 yYes, that's what I wrote above, that essentially, if you can find a way to keep the baby alive, where it does not violate anyone's bodily autonomy, great. You could do it by finding women willing to act as hosts, or by artificial means, who knows. The problem is that we do not currently have the means or methods to keep an embryo or fetus alive for long outside of a womb.
But I also think that we should work on providing support and healthy homes for children already alive and present, instead of trying to add more to the population.
Asker+1 yYes but this is the future and it sounds near. We will be able to develop babies outside of the womb. It will happen within our lifetime
Opinion Owner+1 yWho knows, maybe, maybe not 🤷
12.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. What other sort of babies are there?
The problem is not babies/foetus/clump of cells, or whatever euphemism the parties want to use to push forth their agenda, though.
The babies aren't magically appearing, they are the result of behaviours. Too many people don't want to take responsibility for those behaviours and would rather "magic" the problem gone.
These are the same sort of people that then complain about illegals and immigrants, shrinking job prospects and high medical expenses.10 Reply1.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. If, and I mean if, they were babies your argument might be valid. But, as a fetus is not a baby your argument falls on its face.
00 Reply18.6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. You’re “poisoning the well” - as they say- by calling the unborn babies. The Bible doesn’t even call them people until one month old.

@ms_vanderquack he went a bit quiet …
Asker+1 yI asked her to not compare what’s more bad over the other. All I’m asking is that if it’s bad and wrong to kill a baby?
- +1 y
All I am asking you to do is answer the question and pin your colours either way.
Life is simply not black and white.
Medical professionals have to make hard decisions.
People have to make hard descions they do not want to make but life is not about things being fun and rosey.
+1 yUntil the fetus develops a nervous system and has consciousness, it's okay

Put your own continent in order before ever discussing anything else in the world.
Try corruption, genocide, gender mutilation, civil war, etc etc.
Whether the US or other developed nations allow abortion, really does not matter.
Huge swathes of Africa still have huge problems with homosexuality.
Pick a country in Africa and it is falling off the board.
Asker+1 yWe are doing fine. No idea where you get your stats from. We are fine
- +1 y
The number of migrants, the need fo UN peacekeepers in nearly every African country, rampant corruption, tribalism, racism.
I think the last report even on South Africa expected civil war within 20 years.
Sudan, Somalia, Libya, etc etc etc….

Asker+1 yStick to the topic
- +1 y
Yeah.
I am.
For example if you had of been American.
Why is it wrong to allow a woman to be pro choice and have an abortion, but right to allow firearms that kill more people in the US than pretty much anywhere else in the world.
Double standards.
Asker+1 yYou are going off tangents completely
- +1 y
It’s not it’s about moral and ethica responsibility.
Asker+1 yIt’s about whether or not killing a baby is wrong or not. Simple question
- +1 y
It is very much on topic.
Pro gun owner who believes automatic weapons should be a god given right, then argues against abortion,,,.
That’s irony of the highest order. - +1 y
It’s an ethical and moral thing.
You can’t look at it separately.
Obviously as an African, you will 100% agree that the US is totally fucked up and their owning guns is simply stupid?
Asker+1 yI am a white African man. I believe owning guns is a fundamental right and everyone should own a gun. We should also not place limits on guns.
Asker+1 yI want to move to america and own an AR-15
- +1 y
Hence the irony.
You back gun ownership which kills a ridiculous number of Americans but argue against abortion… irony in action.
Take it a step further, 100 pregnancies doctors tell the mothers, they will be born death, blind and need daily care for rest of life for food and toilet.
The parents are both 30.
Do they terminate or not?
Asker+1 yGuns and abortion are two different topics
- +1 y
Different topics same moral and ethical area.
Back to the question on these 100 pregnancies
Asker+1 ySo you do think it’s wrong to kill babies? Yes or no?
- +1 y
Killing babies using medical term yes.
Termination within specified time frame agreed by medical and legal frame work is not wrong, certain things in life need to be taken away from society decisions.
Now answer the debating question about these 100 babies - +1 y
100 pregnancies terminate yes or no?
100 pregnancies doctors tell the mothers, they will be born death, blind and need daily care for rest of life for food and toilet.
It’s going to cost $5k plus for each child for the rest it’s life, medical doctors reckon a life of at least 60 years. - +1 y
Still waiting Anon.
These are the real decisions a parent and medical professional must make in a very short timeframe.
Real life sucks, real life hurts.
Asker+1 yYou keep going off tangent and off topic. I can’t even debate with you. I just asked a simple question
- +1 y
It’s not wrong.
Are you saying you would have these 100 pregnancies go to term and then live 60 plus year blind and deaf being fed by hand and someone doing toilet functions for them?
Are you happy to put 100 humans through that?
It’s the outcome from your question.
I’ve given my answer, now what is yours - +1 y
You're comparing objects to human beings though. An object used to defend yourself against a tyrannical governement protected by the 2nd ammendment. And you're more likely to be killed in a car accident before being killed by a gun in America. One mass shooting that happens once in a while gets overblown and made to make it look like mass shootings happen everyday. And here's the thing. Women can have their abortions, but a man shouldn't have to pay child support if he doesn't want to be there if the woman chooses to keep it. Women want their abortions, fine go for it by all means. But men should have the option to opt if she keeps the baby. That's equality right there

@Chthou95
Yeah as long as consensual, however guys tend to be the ones that moan about it the most, having cake and eating it.
You have sex, you recognise there is the fact you have a responsibility once the child is born
The mother has the choice if or if not it is born.
With a decent guy, it would include him as well
Then it’s down to professional medical and physiological advice, - +1 y
But how is it fair that she gets to choose wether the child lives or not without the fathers say but if she keeps it, he has to stay or pay child support? You think that's fair? Accidental pregnancies can happen too and if the guy isn't ready to have a child but she wants it, why shouldn't he be able to opt out
- +1 y
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yOf course.
