did you ever hear that old saying "misery loves company" when people are like that i pay them no mind and go on with my day because they are so insignificant. its everywhere toxic miserable people, I refuse to spend or waste my time worrying about pleasing them. so not really

What I have learned with dealing with bullies of any age, you NEVER let them know that their plans are working. Keep turning their insults into jokes, give them the deer in the headlights look if they get in your face, watch in joy as they struggle harder and harder to make your life miserable and they will eventually give up.

I do. Honestly, I really wish that I can stay unaffected by other people's remarks, but I always try to be a likable person to everyone. I get really hurt when someone trash talk about me.

You're definitely not incorrect about that. There are a lot of miserable people in the world whose goals seem to be to make everyone around them as miserable as they are, and they definitely do not like seeing anyone have anything they don't (even if it's something that's well within their reach if they want it; it's often easier to make others feel bad and bring them down than it is to work to better oneself).

As for whether or not I care what others think of me, for the most part, no. I do want to be a generally likeable and well respected person by good people, but do not lose any sleep over the opinions of the few assholes who do not like me for whatever reason. Usually their reasoning for their low opinions of me has a lot more to do with themselves than me, and they're generally not high quality, nor happy people.

Yeah of course, basically everyone does. Humans are social animals and most people do care about how other people perceive them, often subconsciously.

I don't however let it affect me anymore. I've learned to accept that some people will dislike me and instead of seeking their approval through diplomacy I will gladly fight them today.
