Why do people silence others with a different opinion than them?

This is more of a rant but I’m genuinely concerned why people feel the need to lack maturity, respect and open mindedness than an opinion different than their own.

Lately I’ve been having my opinion which is rarely controversial or rude being removed because I said something different than what they want to hear , basically seeking confirmation than a discussion which isn’t really helping people educate each other.

Not just referring to on here but in general , I don’t understand 😩

I generally don't remove comments from my posts, except in the rare occurrence they bring my kids into the conversation in a negative light. If they ever do that then the poster can choke on a whole bag of dicks and I will remove their comment if I can.

This is such a wonderful question to ponder. And ponder it I do. Daily. It is absolutely terrifying knowing that this is such a common practice amongst so many peoples. To me, it is the most destructive behavior for anyone or any collective to engage & perpetrate. Anyone or any group that subscribes to this poisonous behavior is not capable of logic or intellectual thought. Nor do they comprehend equality or desire equality. These menaces operate from feelings and opinion rather than fron informed, critical thought. Not to mention that these folks believe themselves to be above others. These types live in a great amount of fear. Fear of being exposed as the true bigots of society and the oppressors of free men and women. Fear of being like the "rest of us". To silence another is to declare yourself an impotent, weak and immature failure of a human being.

I think it's ignorance, not understanding the other person's perspective. I try and educate people and sometimes I get a good response from them. I try not to let it effect me. I'm human I have my days I have no tolerance for it.

Well, to answer your post. I’m actually guilty of myself doing that to some users cause in the past of dealing with trolls and political arguments. It became too much that I didn’t know what was sincere or not.
