They symbolized the fact that we are all alike, but no two of us are the same. That individually we are small, but together we can change the whole world.
That every person was uniquely beautiful, and impossible to replace.

So many Americans are so offended by th fact that we have some things in common and some things that are different and not everybody agrees with everything else. I really don't understand when or why or how that became a bad thing.

What you said is entirely made up of conjecture, what I said was not, they do commit a disproportionate amount of crime, mostly violent crime, that would include police involved shootings. It isn't fun being a cop knowing one can gun you down and shoot you at any moment, like many bodycam vids I viewed of cops being shot by people while pulling them over. Its brutal and people like you seem to have a cartoonish, almost comical view of the situation. In a second you've been shot in the rib and are going to then get shot in the head, you are in incredible pain and you are going to die, this goes through a cop's mind when he pulls someone over. That it could be him, that any average looking person could actually be a member of a gang or wanted for a serious crime and is ready to shoot you to get away momentarily.
These motherfuckers who do such things have no mercy, they have no pity, they shoot indiscriminately and aim to kill. Movies do not depict this well, I think profiling of blacks is only a phenomenon born of current circumstances where it is simply more likely (by a lot) for a black man to shoot and kill you than a white man. Though both can do the same, one is more likely.
"Black does nothing" is a stupid argument, in many of the bodycam footages, they resist in an unnecessary fashion where they do shit that makes no fucking sense if they are innocent, you rouse a policeman's suspicions when you are so resistant to simple requests so it only makes sense that they would investigate further, it is their damned jobs.
